For Jessica Buettner, 2021 will be a year remembered by the records broken. Jessica competes in the 76kg category and in the 2021 IPF World Classic Powerlifting Championships, she managed to claim three world records (squat, deadlift and total).

Jessica continued her form in the Twitch event hosted by Gymshark and Brawn, she posted an Instagram video of her bench press rep PR 3 x 100kg (220.5lbs), beating her old 3 rep bench press record of 92.5kg (203.9lbs) by 7.5kg (16.5lbs).

You can watch the video here:

Jessica is considered as a top tier powerlifter, and every time she competes, she manages to make some improvements. That being said, bench press can be considered as Jessica’s weakest event, and only because she holds world records in both the squat and deadlift, as well as a world record total. It seems that Jessica decided to even further improve her bench, as she lifted 105kg (231.5lbs) in the latest competition, but she can now do 3 repetitions with only 5kg (11lbs) less than that.

Jessica is no stranger to gym PR’s, as she constantly puts out videos of her new records. The most impressive is probably her 255kg (563lbs) deadlift at 79kg (174.2lbs) bodyweight. This was just before the 2021 IPF World Championships.

Jessica competed in the 76kg category. She managed to score three World Records, missing out on just the bench press. Nevertheless, the bench press had a great impact on her total record.

Jessica’s Type 1 Diabetes Setback

As if these results wouldn’t be impressive, managing to make such success while battling Type 1 Diabetes is beyond impressive. Jessica has a positive attitude towards it, and says that it keeps her disciplined. She finds it that it makes her keep the diet in check, but it also can affect her training at some points. Jessica also has a separated Highlights reel on her Instagram, dedicated to only her diabetes.

Coming back after 19 months and winning the IPF World Championships, while breaking 3 world records, can only be done by a special athlete. And if that wasn’t enough, Jessica keeps pushing her boundaries, as she showed in this bench press rep PR.
