Strongwoman competitor Lucy Underdown is known for her deadlift prowess, as she constantly pulls some mind-blowing weight in the gym. On April 22nd, Lucy shared another massive feat of strength, which added to her impressive resume. In the video, Lucy is seen crushing a huge 280 kg (617 lbs) deadlift, and making it look like a warm-up.

Lucy only utilized a lifting belt and lifting straps to aid her in the lift. Both accessories are legal according to Strongwoman regulations. She is also, of course, deadlifting with a conventional stance, as sumo is not allowed in her sport. In the same training session, Lucy Underdown also pulled 220 kg (485 lbs) for eight reps, and 265 kg (584 lbs) for a single.

You can watch the lift in the second slide of this post:

The 2022 UK’s Strongest Woman competition will take place on April 30th, 2022, in Doncaster, England. This will be a perfect chance for Lucy Underdown to claim her first major title, but it will not be an easy task, as she will have to battle against the likes of Donna Moore, Rebecca Roberts, and Annabelle Chapman.

As far as Lucy’s professional Strongwoman career goes, she has only performed in two major competitions. Her first one was the 2020 Arnold Amateur Strongwoman World Championships, where she placed 7th. The second time was the 2021 UK’s Strongest Woman, and she was much more successful there, having finished in 3rd place.

Lucy Underdown’s greatest achievement came in the 2021 UK’s Strongest Man competition. Lucy was specially invited to the Men’s competition to set a new Strongwoman Deadlift World Record. She pulled 300 kg (661.4 lbs), and is still the only Strongwoman to do so.

Lucy Underdown has already gotten a podium finish at one of the most prestigious Strongwoman competitions last year. So this time, she will only be aiming for the title of UK’s Strongest Woman. Lucy seems ready for everything, as her recent Instagram posts feature heavy deadlifts and 150+ kg atlas stone lifts.

Her day job is being a police officer, so Lucy is a disciplined and authoritative person on and off the Strongwoman stage. This will play a big part in building an incredible career, and she already started the process.
