Canadian bodybuilder Regan Grimes is gearing up to get back on stage following an extended hiatus from competition. The budding contender is working hard in the off-season to return with a stronger package. In a recent post made on Instagram, Grimes looked shredded in a posing session with renowned bodybuilding coach Milos Sarcev weeks ahead of his comeback contest in Italy.
Regan Grimes made waves in the fitness space for his jacked physique in his teen years. He narrowly missed out on the top prize to Michael Lockett as a Men’s Open competitor at the 2017 Vancouver Pro. The following year, he switched to the Men’s Classic Physique division and scored his first pro win at the 2018 New York Pro. The victory earned him an invite to the Mr. Olympia contest, where he impressed with an eighth-place finish.
After the appearance, Grimes moved back to Men’s Open and has been competing in the category since. In 2020, he dominated the competition at the Romania Muscle Fest Pro and made two impressive showings at Mr. Olympia shows. He took to the sidelines after back-to-back seventh-place finishes at the Arnold Classic and the Boston Pro last season to get ready for 2022 Mr. Olympia.
With his sights set on Olympia, Grimes left the fans stunned with a beastly physique update where he tipped the scales at nearly 300 pounds in the build-up to the event. He generated more buzz with another impressive physique update. However, he decided to sit out the show to focus on adding more muscle mass to his frame. Although coach Sarcev was confident about Grimes’ aesthetics and structure, he identified a need for more size to improve his chances against the mass monsters.
