Hungry, exhausted…and excited? Samson Dauda is ready to put on a show. In a recent YouTube video aired on Sept. 22, 2025, the reigning champ shared his superset back workout just three weeks before his title defense.
Dauda is aiming to do what Derek Lunsford and Hadi Choopan couldn’t — successfully defend the Mr. Olympia title. In 2024, he proved himself as the best in the world, and he did it through improved conditioning. He gambled and competed at the 2025 Arnold Classic, but fell short of Lunsford in the finals.
As one of the biggest athletes slated to compete, fans have debated whether Dauda will have the conditioning needed to extend his reign. Though if his latest guest posing is a predictor, he’s right there, which has only added intrigue to his upcoming performance.

Before the session, Dauda gave an update on his Olympia prep. While he’s tired and hungry, he’s confident that he’ll present a look “we have never come close to getting before.”
“It’s been fuckin awesome. Obviously, I’m exhausted. I’m starving. I’m tired — blah, blah, blah, you’ve heard it all before, nothing new. We are digging deep.
But, at the same time, I see the results and I see where we’re at, and it’s a look that we have never come close to getting before, and that’s got me excited.”
Dauda implemented supersets throughout the session. By performing two exercises back-to-back without rest, athletes can burn extra calories and increase workout intensity without manipulating weight. This can be especially helpful for bodybuilders like Dauda who are tasked with shredding a considerable amount of weight before standing onstage.
Following the workout, Dauda elaborated on his training style heading into Olympia. Given that prep has drained his energy, mostly due to a lack of calories, he shared that using two sets for each exercise with the heaviest weight possible is helping him present a harder, more detailed physique.
“Another one down and two more to go. One in the UK and one in the US, holy shit, so just one more back session to go before the Olympia. It’s counting down now. It’s a lot of fun. Nice, hardcore, just the way we like to train.
Always, from the start of this prep all the way to the end, pushing all the way. Even with the late end of prep, where energy is low, calories are low, you’re a lot more tired, you’re a lot more weaker, but what I tend to do is even if it’s just for one or two sets, I push the maximum amount of weight that I can. I put that muscle group under tension with a maximum amount of weight that I possibly can in one or two sets,” Dauda shared.
Public confidence in Dauda is at an all-time high. Former 1983 Mr. Olympia Samir Bannout likes his chances going into Vegas. He argued that a Dauda at 95% would be more than enough to give the lineup ‘hell’ at the 2025 Mr. Olympia.
Dauda is on track to bring a look never seen before. Don’t miss the 2025 Mr. Olympia, set for Oct. 9-12 in Las Vegas, Nevada.
