Bodybuilder Samson Dauda is making noticeable progress ahead of his next contest at the 2025 Arnold Classic. On January 29, 2025, Dauda pushed through a superset-focused arm workout less than five weeks from hitting the stage.
Last year, Samson Dauda‘s bodybuilding season culminated in a masterpiece. He kicked off the season with a pair of runner-up performances behind Hadi Choopan at the 2024 Arnold Classic Ohio and UK events. To prime his physique for the biggest show of the year, Dauda competed just a few weeks before at the Tsunami Pro, winning gold handily.
Filled with confidence and momentum, he shocked the world on the Mr. Olympia stage. He defeated former champion Derek Lunsford to become the 19th athlete to etch his name into the prestigious Sandow trophy. Now, his sights are set on the upcoming 2025 Arnold Classic, where he’ll aim to become a two-time titleholder.

‘The Nigerian Lion’ utilized a superset training system, which will help him burn extra calories throughout the workout. In addition, supersets involve shorter resting periods, adding even more intensity to his training efforts. Dauda admits prep has become increasingly more difficult as he continues to shred down for the stage. Overall, he’s satisfied with the progress he’s made.
“This past week has been definitely the most difficult one, the most hardest one. It’s at the stage where I know this is where we’re at for the next four weeks. It’s a point now where it’s time to struggle, now it’s time to grind, now it’s time to really push in. I’m happy where we are.”
He predicted that he would showcase his all-time best package on the Arnold Classic stage.
“I’m happy where the progress is. I know this is the point where it matters. Those fine intricate details that we want that we’ve never had before, this is where we fight for them.
Four and a half weeks away and it’s all about grinding and bringing our best to the stage so far. The way things are going this is going to be our best look ever,” shared Dauda.
If Dauda wants to hoist gold above his head at the Arnold Classic, he’ll have a stacked roster of threats to deal with. On paper, Derek Lunsford is by far his most imposing challenger, given his former status as a Mr. Olympia. But the stage will be filled with promising talents, including Andrew Jacked, Brandon Curry, and Shaun Clarida, as well as dark horses James Hollingshead and Carlos Thomas Jr.
Looking bigger and more vascular than ever, Dauda intends to put distance between himself and the rest of the Men’s Open. Don’t miss his performance at the 2025 Arnold Classic, set for February 27 to March 2 in Columbus, Ohio!
