From a party-loving college girl to a bikini athlete, Alyssa Loughran’s journey has inspired many people in the fitness community. After experiencing insecurities while in college, Alyssa decided to be the best version of her by devoting to bodybuilding. Years later, Alyssa Loughran has several accolades to her name, alongside appearance in a film.

She has worked hard in the gym to achieve the sculpted physique. Born in Pennsylvania, America, Alyssa Loughran is now a global fitness icon.

Biography

Early life and family background

Born and bred in Pennsylvania, Alyssa Loughran was very athletic growing up. She was active in many sports such as soccer and netball and she was in good shape from a young age. Alyssa became quite the party girl during high school and college. She started to regularly partake on alcohol and junk food, becoming very unfit as a result of the bad habits.

Starting to lift weights

Within a few months of college, Alyssa was insecure about her body and appearance. She decided to sign for a gym membership. At 18 years, she started lifting weights. Alyssa Loghran immediately fell in love with the weights. Her toned physique was soon taking shape.

Kumite classic

Alyssa Loughran had made serious progress after about one year of consistent training. Alyssa’s friends and training gym buddies encouraged to enter a fitness competition. On Alyssa’s 19th birthday, she walked on the Kumite Classic stage as a bikini athlete. Alyssa Loughran was immediately impressive, winning the Model America category. She was 2nd in the Bikini America division. Alyssa was motivated to reach for more levels in the fitness industry. Even as she studied hard to complete her college, Alyssa was still consistent in the gym. During her final college days, Alyssa pursued a modeling career. Alyssa quickly taught herself the ins and outs of photoshoots.

As she graduated at 22 years, Alyssa Loughran physique was very toned. She started participating in even bigger shows, while still pursuing her modeling career. Alyssa participated in the high profile NPC Pennsylvania state championship, emerging 5th in the Bikini category. Alyssa Loughran won the Kumite Classic Bikini America show in the following year.

Acting

In 2013, Alyssa Loughran acted in her debut film, ”The Way to a Woman’s Heart”. As much as she had fun appearing in the film, Alyssa decided that her future was in fitness, not Hollywood.

Social media presence

Alyssa Loughran has been a subject in many fitness community forums. She is an online sensation with a strong social media presence, with many fitness enthusiasts admire Alyssa’s impeccable physique. Alyssa Loughran is a popular #WomanCrushWednesday on both Instagram and Twitter.

 

Training

Alyssa Loughran trains in the gym 4 to 5 days a week, her sessions for weight training are 2-4 hours each. She alternates lower body and upper body workouts each day. Alyssa Loughran is not a cardio bunny.However, she goes for a run at least weekly. Alyssa Loughran loves the fresh air and scenery whenever she’s running. On most exercises, Alyssa uses the smallest resistance band. She alternates heavy low rep sets with high reps or lightweight burnouts every other day. Alyssa Loghran practices wrestling and Thai boxing two days a week.

Alyssa’s routine would look something like this:

  • Monday – Upper Body
  • Tuesday – Lower Body
  • Wednesday – Thai Boxing
  • Thursday – Upper Body workout
  • Friday- Lower Body workout
  • Saturday – Wrestling
  • Sunday – Restday

Nutritiоn/Diеt

Alyssa Loughran cuts all carbs, sugars and red meat when prepping for a competition. She hyper hydrates and dehydrates right before the competition. In the offseason, Alyssa regularly partakes of alcohol and pizza. Alyssa eats six meals each day and keeps her metabolism high. She takes flameout fish oils as supplements each day.Alyssa also consistently eats metabolic drive protein bars, besides taking water pills when it’s closer to competition. Alyssa Loughran admits that she is not the best at remembering to take supplements.

What we can learn from Alyssa Loughran

Alyssa has taught us to take action instead of sitting around complaining. She started lifting weights after having insecurities, in the end achieving one of the most remarkable physiques in the fitness industry. Also, we should have friends that bring out the best in us. Alyssa friends entered her into a fitness show that changed her life.
