One of the most exciting components of the CrossFit season is when the Team CrossFit Mayhem Freedom roster is announced. We are here.
The names on this year’s Team CrossFit Mayhem Freedom: Rich Froning, Andrea Nisler, Taylor Williamson, and Chase Hill.
Team Mayhem Freedom announced the changes on their YouTube channel:
About Team CrossFit Mayhem Freedom
The Team CrossFit Mayhem Freedom roster has seen a few evolutions in its day since it began in 2015. It has had a new roster every year since it began in 2015, with one factor never changing – the Froning factor.
Team CrossFit Mayhem Freedom was launched in 2015 by Rich Froning who was the first-ever Fittest Man on Earth®. After Rich Froning won the title for the fourth time in a row in 2015, he developed the Team CrossFit Mayhem Freedom to continue in CrossFit, but at a team level.
Rich Froning clearly has the leadership needed to take a team to the gold. He’s done it with Team Mayhem Freedom four times out of five, with golds in 2015, 2016, 2018, and 2019. In 2020 the Team competition was canceled due to the pandemic.

Changes to CrossFit Teams Competition
While the team has seen some evolutions, this year’s changes were the result of the 2021 CrossFit rulebook and the 2021 CrossFit Open schedule.
Those rules include the following:
- Team members must be active members of their CrossFit affiliate. For this team, it will be Froning’s gym CrossFit Mayhem.
- Team members must have begun training at CrossFit Mayhem before January 1, 2021.
- Team members must live within a 100-mile radius of their affiliate gym, in this case CrossFit Mayhem.
- Team members can not own a different affiliate.
Team CrossFit Mayhem Freedom could not accept previous members Scott Panchik or Chyna Cho for the team due to the last two rules of the new changes.
Scott Panchik owns CrossFit Mentality in Mentor, Ohio, and Chyna Cho co-owns Good For You CrossFit in Newark, California. She shares this with Freddie Camacho. Tasia Percevecz from previous seasons was also unable to join the team this year due to health concerns.
New Members To The Team Mayhem Freedom Roster
Chase Hill
Chase Hill is relatively a newcomer to the CrossFit Games, in comparison with some of his counterparts on Team Mayhem Freedom. Chase is 32-years-old and has not yet made it to the CrossFit Games. Chase has competed in the Open six times since 2013.
He came in as high as 265th overall in the CrossFit Games and placed 169th in the United States. He comes from Team CrossFit Mayhem Independence which took third in 2019 CrossFit French Throwdown.
Andrea Nisler
Andrea Nisler hails from a variety of CrossFit teams. She was a member of Team Timberwolf CrossFit that placed 29th in 2016 and eighth in the 2017 season. In 2018, she played with Team CrossFit OC3 and helped them take it to third place. By 2019, Team OC3 Black was happy to have her and win the fourth place spot.
Overall at the individual level, Nisler has placed 15th in the CrossFit Open, and third in the United States.

Taylor Williamson
Taylor Williamson is not as new to the CrossFit Games as Chase Hill. She has been to the CrossFit Games four times as a team athlete. Her debut was in 2016 when she worked with Team CrossFit OC3. She has also been on Team OC3 Black.
For her CrossFit Games performances, she was in fifth place in 2016, ninth in 2017, third in 2018, and fourth in 2019.
She has played with Andrea Nisler before, who invited her to join her on Team Mayhem Freedom. The two have actually competed against Team Mayhem in prior seasons, so this will be an interesting addition to the Froning-born team in 2021.
