It’s going to be a dog fight on the 2023 Mr. Olympia stage in two weeks. In recent posts made to Instagram, Open contenders Derek Lunsford, Samson Dauda, Regan Grimes, and Nathan De Asha showcased ripped updates in preparation for the event.
Last December capped off a historic 2022 Mr. Olympia contest that saw a new champion emerge. Mamdouh “Big Ramy” Elssbiay dropped to fifth place in a shocking upset. Instead, Hadi Choopan won after battling his teammate Derek Lunsford in the finals, who successfully transitioned from the Men’s 212 Bodybuilding division, courtesy of a special invitation.
Lunsford opted to use the time away from Olympia to perfect his chest and quad volume. The IFBB Pro calendar carried on and saw Samson Dauda defeat Nick Walker on the 2023 Arnold Classic stage in March.
Other contenders have made their way to Mr. Olympia this year like 2023 Europa Pro Championship winner Regan Grimes and Nathan De Asha, who is riding high on momentum having recently won contests at the Flex Weekend Pro and the Sheru Classic France Pro.

Derek Lunsford Shares Ripped Back in Update 2 Weeks from 2023 Mr. Olympia
Check out Lunsford’s progress photos below:
“Bodybuilding is art.
My canvas is my physique.
Like a sculptor who is creating a piece of work, I too, am creating a unique work of art.
Nobody else holds the tools, but the sculptor.
So what we do in the gym and what foods we put into our bodies, is what we can control.
Everything else is in God’s hands,” Lusnford shared.
With easily one of the most complete backs in the category, fans are looking forward to seeing Lunsford rematch Choopan. Veterans of the sport believe Choopan narrowly defeated Lunsford in Las Vegas last year because he wasn’t able to match the Iranian native’s hardness from the front.
Samson Dauda Showcases ‘Men’s Physique Waist’ in 2023 Olympia Update
Find Samson Dauda’s latest progress photo below:
“One of the biggest guys on the ⭕ stage but with a men’s physique waist…. mass & aesthetic in one.” Dauda shared.
Dauda’s victory at the Arnold Classic set him up with considerable hype heading into the biggest show of the year. Taking his sixth-place finish at 2022 Olympia into account, Dauda and his coach Milos Sarcev have acknowledged that back growth, detail, and thickness are the top priorities every day in the training room.
Regan Grimes Shares Beastly Progres Video: ‘The Goal Is To Get Better Every Day’
Check out Grimes’ progress below:
“The goal is to get better everyday! 👊🏼” wrote Grimes.
Hitting a crab most muscular, Grimes continues to dry out his physique for 2023 Olympia. In the past, bodybuilding veterans have been critical of his conditioning. In order to remedy that, Grimes has adhered to a painfully strict diet. In a YouTube video, Grimes went over the six-meal plan comprised of 1,935 calories.
Nathan De Asha Looking Shredded 2 Weeks from 2023 Mr. Olympia
De Asha showed off his separated legs and blew fans away with his conditioning below:
“Day started well. All meals prepped ready to go.
Flight cancelled ” there’s a storm coming “. So back to the gym to push on the ideas I have. Now the down slope. Machines dropped on me knee by 2 friends from Southport. ” being paid by another pro for my withdrawal ” trapped my thumb on the way down. Two blood blisters now latest news manchers airport is on a terrorist alert so who knows what tomorrow bring.I used to worry about enemies now I worry about me boys fukin me over.” De Asha shared.
Diced head-to-toe with impressive side thickness, De Asha is a definite dark horse heading into this year’s Olympia. He hasn’t graced the Olympia stage since 2018, so he heads into Orlando, Florida as an unpredictable threat. Having earned as high as seventh place at the sport’s most celebrated event of the year, the Englishman should never be counted out.
With the marquee weekend approaching, leading voices in bodybuilding have offered predictions. In a recent The Menace podcast, Dennis James, Jay Cutler, and Chris Cormier all backed Derek Lunsford to upset Choopan next month. Meanwhile, Milos Sarcev predicted his pupil Samson Dauda to become champion.
The 2023 Mr. Olympia Weekend takes place November 2-5 in Orlando, Florida’s Orange County Convention Center. With a $400,000 check and the sport’s most prestigious crown on the line, you won’t want to miss the action!
