Today is the day for pre-juding at the 2019 Mr. Olympia. Just a few short hours before that begins, Dexter Jackson is in the gym, lifting some serious weight.
The 2019 Mr. Olympia is here. Bodybuilders from around the world have gathered to compete for the vacant title of Mr. Olympia.
This year’s competition is diverse, with some young and hungry athletes competing alongside some of the more experienced competitors.
One of those more experienced competitors is former Olympia champ Dexter Jackson. Jackson won the Olympia in 2008, and is competing in spite of being 49 years old. Despite that, he is one of the strongest competitors in the event, and is even being favored among some important people in the bodybuilding world.
Just a few hours before the start of the pre-judging, Jackson decided to hit the gym. In a video posted to Instagram, you can see him working alongside Charles Glass. Additionally, the two of them are working together on various machines, getting some arm and chest work in, before the big show.
Here is the video of Jackson working hard:
“Dexter Jackson @mrolympia08 and I have known each other for almost 30 years.
Within that time, Dexter has won more professional titles than anyone. He has won 5 Arnold classic Titles.
This will be @mrolympia08 20th time competing at the “Big Show” @mrolympiallc
He has a passion, a love for the sport of Bodybuilding, not to mention longevity and dedication.”
As Glass alludes to, this is the 20th time Dexter Jackson will be competing at the Mr. Olympia. Therefore he is far more experienced than any of his contemporaries. This experience could lead to him walking away with the title of Mr. Olympia, in what could honestly be one of the craziest stories in all of bodybuilding. Although he must first face the likes of Brandon Curry and Hadi Choopan.
Dexter Jackson will taking the stage for the 2019 Mr. Olympia pre-judging today, at 7:00pm PT (10:00pm ET). You can watch the webcast here, and stay tuned to FitnessVolt for all the updates.
