Brazilian bodybuilding has never been more popular thanks to rising stars like Rafael Brandao. In a recent YouTube video, Brandao and former seven-time 212 Olympia Flex Lewis joined hands for a brutal shoulder workout.
Lewis, a former seven-time 212 Olympia king, also owns the immensely popular Dragon’s Lair Gym in Las Vegas, Nevada. Brandao, who is one week away from taking the stage at the 2024 Arnold Classic South America show, didn’t want to miss an opportunity to train with one of the best.
Having dominated the IFBB Pro League stages undefeated for seven years, Flex Lewis is easily one of the greatest Pro bodybuilders to ever test himself on stage. With victories over names like Derek Lunsford and Hadi Choopan, his physique has stood the test of time with many highlighting that he had little to no weaknesses, even in the posing department.
Brandao, meanwhile, continues to gain strides as an Open class standout. With Classic lines and improved mass, he made a statement in his last appearance at the 2024 Arnold Classic, where he pushed Samson Dauda en route to third place. With the nearing Arnold Classic South America on his radar, he took in some quality training with Lewis to prepare for his next outing.

Lewis assured the audience that Brandao’s opponents would be dealing with a ‘whole new monster’ considering he is on home turf in Brazil.
“Now, we’re dealing with a whole new monster. Plus, the newest addition in his corner, coach Hill, so to see these guys be together is again, very wholesome for me, and from obviously being working with Neil since I was 19 years old, 20 years old, to have that experience, travel the world, win shows, retire undefeated and now to see Rafa become the athlete that he truly needs to be and will be seen by the eyes of all Brazilian fans this coming weekend,” shared Flex Lewis.

For years, Rafael Brandao and seven-time 212 king Flex Lewis have worked together to sculpt next-level physiques. In 2022, Lewis provided guidance and helped Brandao through a number of training sessions including a back-building workout that pushed the Brazilian star to his limits. Their efforts together paid off and Brandao went on to win the 2022 Arnold Classic South America dominantly.
As for Flex Lewis, he remains satisfied with his career after retiring in 2022, citing nausea and persistent stomach problems. That being said, Lewis has maintained an extraordinary physique in retirement and continues to impart wisdom to other aspiring athletes like Brandao. Fans look forward to seeing Brandao back on stage soon at the nearing 2024 Arnold Classic South America show.
