Bodybuilding legend Jay Cutler crafted an impressive physique, which led to an illustrious career as an IFBB Pro. In a recent YouTube video, Cutler shares his top three exercises he relies on for building massive lats.

Jay Cutler had a successful bodybuilding career, winning four Mr. Olympia titles en route to establishing a solid legacy. Ronnie Coleman and Jay Cutler had one of the sport’s most remembered rivalries while still maintaining a friendship off stage.

Cutler temporarily lost his Mr. Olympia title to Dexter Jackson in 2008 but made a comeback the next year. He became the sole Men’s Open bodybuilder to reclaim the prestigious Sandow Trophy. Now retired, Cutler remains dedicated to maintaining a robust and healthy physique. In his latest contribution to fans, he expertly outlined a trio of exercises to help achieve impressive wing-like lats.

Jay Cutler Gives Three Exercises for Massive Lats Including His Favorite Movement For Back Training

Jay Cutler has built a following across several social media platforms where he documents his journey, which recently included his fit-for-50 challenge and his incredible physique update for his birthday. He also shares his knowledge of fitness with workout and dieting tips.

Check out the top three lat movements below:

  1. Pull-Up
  2. One-Arm Dumbbell Row
  3. Pullover

1. Pull-Up

“Is going to be your standard pull-up. Bodyweight pull-ups, some of you guys want to drop some weight on it’s okay. I had heavy enough legs where you know a wide grip pull-up was really, really beneficial for someone like me I was able to establish a lot of width. Don’t worry about the depth as much as you worry about the width first” Cutler explains.

2. One-Arm Dumbbell Row

“The second exercise, one-arm dumbbell row, probably my favorite movement to do in my back training where I actually do a little pull forward. Really just kind of pull to the hip obviously switching sides, focus on 12 repetitions, we know that.”

3. Pullover

“Lastly, you guys are going to be surprised at this one, this is going to be your pullover. Whether it’s with dumbbell, machine, cable pullover, really doesn’t matter how you do it but any kind of pullover movement where you are going to stretch the lats out. This is going to be very beneficial to develop those barn door wide lats” Jay Cutler said.

After stating his three exercises, Cutler it clear that it is important to focus on width and repetition above everything else.

“That’s the most important thing. You want to look wide and of course all the detail and the definition and everything like that will come in later but focus on 12 repetitions.”
