After facing a series of setbacks, bodybuilder Jeremy Buendia is working towards making a comeback at the 2025 Arnold Classic. In a recent video shared on Instagram on November 4, 2024, Buendia gave an update on his progress, discussed bouncing back from injuries, and revealed how he’s approaching preparations.

Jeremy Buendia’s return to the bodybuilding scene hasn’t gone as expected. After taking an extended hiatus, the former four-time Men’s Physique champion decided to test his mettle once again and compete at the prestigious Mr. Olympia competition in 2023.

Buendia unfortunately placed eighth despite his best efforts, which was a significantly lower placement than he aimed for. But Buendia was undeterred, announcing he intended to get straight to work so he could come in stronger the following year.

However, fast forward to April, and once again, things wouldn’t go according to plan for Buendia due to him suffering a ruptured Achilles tendon. He then re-ruptured the tendon. Buendia revealed he needed surgery, which ultimately put an end to his 2024 bodybuilding season. Now, Buendia is on the mend and working towards returning to the competitive stage with a newfound grit and determination.

Jeremy Buendia zeroed in on the 2025 Arnold Classic and has already begun his prep. In a recent Instagram post, Buendia updated fans on his progress and discussed how his injuries are healing.

“I’ve been getting really strong, really quick again. All my lifts are back to where they were, you know, at my strongest. We are, I think it’s 18.5 weeks out now, right? There’s no need for a long intro man, we just gotta get to work. You guys see, this is where I’m at right now. Obviously, we have a lot of room to get better, and we will do that each and every single week” Buendia said.

While he revealed that he is healing quickly, Buendia emphasized that it’s been hard to get back into the swing of things, especially regarding his diet.

“Bouncing back quick but if I’m being honest with myself, it hasn’t been easy getting back into a rhythm. I haven’t stuck to any kinda of diet since Olympia last year & it’s been a little bit of a struggle for me getting back being consistent and getting all of my food in.

Not making excuses, but I’ve had a lot on my plate and trying to balance everything has been something I’ve been working out the past few weeks. 17 weeks away from the Arnold, & I have a TON of work to do!”

Additionally, Buendia shared that the damage to his Achilles has impacted his alignment, exacerbating the pain in his lower back, which is now causing him to take a more methodical approach to his prep.

“This prep isn’t gonna be easy, my Achilles will probably never be the same, and it’s thrown off my alignment of my knees and hips, making my lower back pain worse than it already was. Shit man, I’m an old head now apparently. Not to mention I almost tore my damn pec again last week.”

“This prep has got to be done methodically. I have to be smart and use my experience to my advantage & not make the same mistakes I have before. I know what it takes, I’ve done it before, & I will do it again!”

Whether or not he plans to compete at the Mr. Olympia remains to be seen. Fans can stay up to date on Buendia’s future by following us here at Fitness Volt!
