Milos Sarcev Says Chris Bumstead ‘Expected to Dominate’ in Prague: “He Has Everything”

Bodybuilding veterans Milos Sarcev and Dennis James are giving their expectations of the nearing 2024 EVLS Prague Pro. In a recent YouTube video published on November 14, 2024, Sarcev and James explained why Chris Bumstead is a favorite to win and discussed Martin Fitzwater’s chances of success. In addition, they revealed what Shaun Clarida would have to do to push into title contention.

It has been a whirlwind of excitement and predictions within the bodybuilding community since Chris Bumstead won his sixth Classic Physique Olympia title. He announced his retirement and then revealed he would be competing in the Open at the 2024 Prague Pro. However, everyone is asking the same question: How will Bumstead hold up against Men’s Open standouts such as Martin Fitzwater?

While the answer remains to be seen, Fitzwater has had an incredibly successful year, beginning with his win at the 2024 Detroit Pro. Shortly after, he tested his mettle on the New York Pro stage, going head-to-head with mass monster Nick Walker, which ended up being a razor-close battle, resulting in Fitzwater securing a second-place finish. Fitzwater then placed fourth in the world at the 2024 Mr. Olympia, confirming his predictions leading up to the event.

In addition, former Men’s 212 Olympia champion Shaun Clarida will also compete in the Men’s Open this weekend. His experience in the Open division could potentially give him an advantage over his fellow athletes. Meanwhile, Chris Bumstead, who started his career in the Open, brings additional insights as he prepares for the event.

With just days until the Prague Pro, Milos Sarcev and Dennis James discussed how they see the event playing out, expressing that Chris Bumstead is a favorite to win. The two also broke down Martin Fitzwater’s potential on stage and offered advice to Shaun Clarida.

According to bodybuilding coach Milos Sarcev, he expects Chris Bumstead to dominate in Prague at his first Open show since 2016.

“Chris is expected to dominate, yes. With Martin, Chris and Martin, first and second right now. It would be surprising if it’s anything else.”

He credits Bumstead for always training like an Open Bodybuilder even though he made his career in the Classic Physique category.

“Now we didn’t touch on this subject. I’m going to ask: what is Chris Bumstead? A bodybuilder. Okay? How does Chris Bumstead train all these years even though he was Classic? As a bodybuilder.

Heavy-duty strong guy, disciplined guy, he’s a godddamn bodybuilder. He just molded his physique structurally into Classic but he has the width, he has the definition, he has everything. He needs a little bit more volume.”

Sarcev was complimentary of Bumstead’s side chest pose. When asked how the show will unfold, Sarcev underlined that ‘Cbum’ and Fitzwater will be in the final call-out.

“Chris being sliced and diced, side chest, fucking shit is happening all over the place, right? He can do that,” says Sarcev.

“Do you see it as a two-man show?” asks Dennis James.

“They might make more, but it’s going to be the last two men standing, I expect to be Martin and Chris, in the last call-out,” shares Sarcev.

Dennis James revealed that Shaun Clarida’s only chance at beating Bumstead and Fitzwater would be if they came in off.

“Can you imagine if he [Shaun Clarida] nails it and he comes in fuller than he was at the Olympia,” asks Dennis James. “Listen, the only chance Shaun has to beat both of these guys is if they come in off. But, the chances…that’s a good chance that this happens, especially when you think you got to be fuller.”

Sarcev clapped back, sharing that he’s never seen Bumstead off throughout his bodybuilding career.

“Chris Bumstead has never been out of shape on stage in his life,” says Sarcev.

“I’m not saying he’s going to be out of shape but I’m saying it could happen. It’s happened to all of us,” argues James.

Dennis James believes Bumstead will need his patented conditioning to defeat Martin Fitzwater in Prague. He doesn’t believe added size will be his key to victory.

“I believe that Chris looking like he did at the Olympia, maybe a little fuller, more filled out just a little bit.

He could be the same weight but he could still be fuller you know. I think that one will be more dangerous to Martin than if he would come bigger and not in condition,” explains Dennis James.

Milos Sarcev and Dennis James aren’t the only ones to give their thoughts about Chris Bumstead and the upcoming Prague Pro. Bodybuilding veteran Shawn Ray gave his unfiltered opinion after Bumstead revealed he was doing the event for fun and sharing that he doesn’t think he is going to win.

“He made a post that he’s just doing it to have fun. You don’t do bodybuilding to have fun, not with professionals.

This kid that we’re talking about that was in fourth, fourth in the Olympia [Martin Fitzwater],” says Ray. “He’s a real bodybuilder and he’s a legitimate threat to win that title. Chris made a comment that he just wants to have fun, he wants to experience it. I didn’t think he had that mindset. I thought if he’s going to Prague, he’s all-in.”

All eyes are on the Men’s Open division as fans and spectators of the sport prepare to see Chris Bumstead take on the division and competitors like Martin Fitzwater. Whether or not Bumstead will be able to step up to the plate to pull out the win will all be revealed in just a few days at the 2024 Prague Pro on November 16-17.
