American bodybuilder Nick Walker is one of the fastest-rising names in the Men’s Open division. The mass monster has quickly become a fan favorite for his impeccable physique and charismatic personality. In a recent interview with Flex Lewis, Walker shared his plans to retire from bodybuilding if he got the chance to act in a movie.

Nick Walker first rose to prominence for his freakish muscle mass, size, and razor-sharp conditioning in the Open class after dominating the competition at the 2021 New York Pro. He scored another victory in his next contest at the 2021 Arnold Classic before concluding one of the best rookie seasons with a top-five finish at the 2021 Mr. Olympia.

Last season, he turned in a commanding performance at the 2022 Mr. Olympia, where he displayed significant improvements and leaped forward to third place behind runner-up Derek Lunsford and champion Hadi Choopan. Walker was last seen in action at the 2023 Arnold Classic. He impressed with a leaner package but fell short of champion Samson Dauda.

Although he’s known for his crazy muscularity and aptly earned the nickname ‘The Mutant,’ Walker was not always this big. He made waves for an insane body transformation snap he posted showing the muscle he gained from the start of his career to now.

Walker is determined to win the coveted Sandow trophy. He’s confident about his place in the mix of title contention and predicted he would face Choopan, Lunsford, Dauda, and Hunter Labrada in the top five for the win at 2023 Mr. Olympia. As for former two-time champion Mamdouh ‘Big Ramy’ Elssbiay, Walker says his best days are behind him. He also discounted the threat of rising sensations Andrew Jacked and Michal Krizo.

Walker believes Lunsford is his biggest threat to securing his maiden win at the Mr. Olympia. While he praised Choopan for his package, he does not see the Iranian champ getting past Lunsford again.

Renowned bodybuilding coach Chris Aceto was not always a fan of Nick Walker but admitted he was wrong about his first impression later. He confessed he didn’t see Walker getting too far in the sport and praised Nick’s freak factor for his immense achievements in a short time on stage.

Walker took inspiration from reigning four-time Classic Physique champion Chris Bumstead to list out the only top 10 movements he would use to build muscle in prep for a competition. Given how massive Walker looks, he’s faced criticism for seemingly not caring about his health in pursuit of his ambitions. However, none of that slowed Walker down even if it affected his training methods to some extent.

Nick Walker Reveals Acting Could Force Retirement from Bodybuilding

In a recent YouTube video, Nick Walker revealed he could retire from bodybuilding if a good acting opportunity presented itself. He would prefer to play any role that doesn’t include getting killed off too early.

“Yes, I’ve always had an interest in acting,” said Walker. “When I was in high school a freshman junior, I did like the whole drama club thing. My mother always told me I’d be a great actor because of how much of a pain in the ass I was. But no, I just think when I put my mind to something I could be really good at it.”

“Derek asked me what kind of actor I would be. I don’t know I’ve never done it yet but I feel like I could be serious, funny, the action hero, or serial killer if they want me to be. I just don’t want to die first. I’m here to make a name don’t kill me.”

Walker would try to balance bodybuilding with acting and disclosed he would love to play the role of a Spartan warrior, like in Zack Snyder’s famous film 300.

“I’m a bodybuilder. My goal is to win Mr. Olympia but let’s just say next year, I get an offer of something, I’m going to go for it because as I said it’s something I want to do. If I could juggle both I will but if I get an opportunity to act in something that is going to go viral or whatever I’m going to take the opportunity and going to flourish with it. I think that’s the beauty about the start of even me being the bodybuilder, it could lead to so many things down the road.”

“300. I want to be a Spartan warrior,” he added. “I want to f**k s*** up.”

Nick Walker is aware of the danger each participant will bring on stage based on the improvements made in the off-season. Being humble in competition, Walker understands no one is guaranteed placement and plans to bring his best form on stage. He believes he could improve his standing if Lunsford missed the mark at the upcoming 2023 Mr. Olympia.

Renowned bodybuilding coach Milos Sarcev admitted Walker would give Dauda hell on stage with his insane muscularity but believes it could swing either way given their different features. While Walker can’t out-shape Dauda, his freak factor could put him forward in the competition if he came in the right condition.

Walker detailed the six meals he’s consuming while in prep weeks out from the upcoming Mr. Olympia. Then, the 29-year-old gave fans a look into the lower body workout he’s utilizing to build huge legs while gearing up for the sport’s biggest show of the year in Nov.

Based on the latest update, fans will be even more excited to see Walker compete on stage given the sense of urgency he’s showing with his tentative plans to move on from the sport.
