Urs Kalecinski isn’t underestimating any threat vying for supremacy in the Classic Physique division. In a recent Prime Time Muscle episode, Kalecinski laid out how he plans to defeat Wesley Vissers, Ramon Queiroz, and Chris Bumstead at the 2024 Mr. Olympia with ‘super’ aesthetics and balance.
With a dancing background and some of the best posing skills in the division, Urs Kalecinski quickly turned into a notable threat within the Classic Physique category. At only 25 years old, ‘The Miracle Bear’ has proven himself as an immensely promising talent, having placed as high as third on the prestigious Mr. Olympia stage for two consecutive years (2022, 2023).
Although he set his sights on gold at the 2024 Arnold Classic, Kalecinski was blindsided in third place by the fullness and dry conditioning of Wesley Vissers, who upset Ramon Queiroz to take home the title. Even though the division underwent a huge shake-up, Kalecinski is more confident than ever that he is the man to finally take down reigning five-time Classic Physique Olympia Chris Bumstead.
“The key question is, is Urs the guy [to beat Bumstead] or is Ramon the guy or is Wesley Vissers the guy?” asks Terrick El Guindy.

“I’m the guy,” replied Urs Kalecinski. “I’m going to prove it at the end of the year.”
Urs Kalecinski Talks 2024 Mr. Olympia, & The ‘Deadly Package’ He’s Bringing to Dominate in Classic Physique
Kalecinski was honest about what went wrong at the 2024 Arnold Classic against Ramon Queiroz and winner Wesley Vissers. He believes he lacked the fullness and conditioning displayed by ‘The Dutch Oak.’
“Wesley, a guy from like top seven to 10 Olympia placing went to the first place because he brought his A-game.”
“I would say it was his conditioning and his fullness. Because we all saw me and Ramon at the evening and we had a different level of fullness and that was also the feedback from the judges that told me in prejudging the fullness wasn’t there 100 percent.”
According to bodybuilding veteran Chris Cormier, Kalecinski would benefit from toning down the theatrics of his posing routines.
“Continue to improve like you are. I want to talk a little bit about your posing. Your posing, you’re an extraordinary poser, I think that’s one of your strongest attributes is your posing and I think that’s what needs to be highlighted about you because it’s not normal. The theatrics, from the hand movements to doing the rewind, all that stuff.”
Kalecinski adds that his mother helps him craft his routines to maximize his aesthetic appearance on stage.
“Yeah, I’m working together with my mom for a long enough time now and she’s not just like looking at the poses and the posing, she’s like, when you put up your hand, she takes your face and says don’t look there, look there because in the whole room, it makes you more aesthetically pleasing.”
The German standout underlined that his weight cap for Classic Physique sits at 227 pounds, and said he weighed 225 pounds at the 2024 Arnold Classic.
“We all are in the same boat, I mean every of the Classic guys needs to make the weight limit and do the peak perfectly or try to hit it perfectly,” said Urs Kalecinski. “It depends [how much weight can I put on]. The cap is 103 [kilograms]. No, it’s about 230 [227 pounds]. Yeah, 227 exactly, 227, and I weighed in at the Arnold at 225.”
Looking ahead, Kalecinski intends to improve his arms and back to balance out his exceptionally strong lower body.
“My head is very focused on the big shows to get a big impact over there. Body part-wise, my arms and my back. I always try to get my feet back and everytime they say it matches more, it matches more, it matches more, that’s definitely a good direction.”
He believes ‘super aesthetics,’ balance, spot-on conditioning, and good posing can create the winning formula for the 2024 Mr. Olympia.
“I try to bring up a super aesthetic and balanced physique, that’s bodybuilding for me. That’s always what I wanted to achieve and always what I loved about bodybuilding.
That combined with super good posing with spot-on conditioning, then the right peak, that’s going to be a deadly package and I think I have all the attributes which a lot of competitors miss and some kind of way.”
“That’s what makes me the next Mr. Olympia,” says Urs Kalecinski.
There’s no denying that the division has become more interesting following Wesley Vissers’ success at the Arnold Classic Ohio and UK contests. Vissers announced that he is planning to bring the golden era back to the Olympia stage when the show celebrates its 60th anniversary from October 10-13.
With a handful of Classic Physique stars on the hunt for Chris Bumstead’s Olympia title, the show promises to be unforgettable. Despite the setback in Ohio, Urs Kalecinski hasn’t lost sight of his ultimate goal: to claim the Olympia title and solidify his place among the greats of Classic Physique.
