Urs Kalecinski is making every moment count in the lead-up to his Open Mr. Olympia debut. On October 7, 2025, he was guided by former four-time champ Jay Cutler through his final leg workout before stepping onstage.

Kalecinski captained one of the most dominant 2025 seasons in Open Bodybuilding. He moved up from Classic Physique into the Men’s Open and wasted no time. He dominated Quinton Eriya at the ProMuscle Italy Pro and then a week later, brought an even stronger package to the Europa Pro Championship

With two wins under his belt, Kalecinski’s stock is sky-high heading into Olympia. Despite just entering the division, “The Miracle Bear” believes he one day may win the Mr. Olympia title, and now, it looks like Cutler thinks the same.

Urs Kalecinski Takes Tips from Jay Cutler During Final Leg Workout Before 2025 Mr. Olympia

Find their exercises from the video below:

  • Leg Extension Machine
  • Leg Press Machine
  • Pendulum Squat
  • Seated Leg Curl
  • Leg Adduction Machine

Leg Extension Machine

Cutler told Kalecinski he always starts and ends leg workouts with leg extensions.

“Leg extensions to get the knees warm. I was always pre-exhausted anyway. I would do leg extensions with lighter weight to get the blood going and then I would finish with those at the end, which I don’t have to do, but now I don’t do hack squats.”

Leg Press Machine

Kalecinski avoids high foot placement on the leg press machine so he can keep maximum tension on the quads.

“Feet up here, range of motion like this… that’s not going to make your legs bigger [higher on the platform],” said Kalecinski.

Pendulum Squat

He explained that the pendulum squat machine has become a staple in his arsenal because it’s a knee-friendly alternative.

“After the leg press, we’re going for the pendulum. I really like this machine. I got one for my own gym as well because it’s super knee-friendly. I don’t have any knee problems at all.

I like to mix it up between the hack squat and I did front squats for a long time, but I did like five plates and it got too dangerous with holding the shit here.”

Seated Leg Curl

When asked who was the most decorated uncrowned Mr. Olympia, Kalecinski named Flex Wheeler

“With Flex, you can’t really argue — especially the early versions of Flex.”

Leg Adduction Machine

Even before Kalecinski steps onstage, Cutler argued he was destined to eventually become a Mr. Olympia.

“Whatever position you place — just remember your vision is that end game. I know you want to win it, and I know you think you can. I’ve seen the content, and I really, truly think, in time, you can win Mr. Olympia in the Open,” said Jay Cutler.

Kalecinski has kept his expectations realistic heading into Olympia. He targeted a top-10 finish but believes there are a few high-profile names he can beat, including Andrew Jacked, Regan Grimes, Rubiel “Neckzilla” Mosquera, and Jordan Hutchinson.

Kalecinski has the chance to shock the world in his Open debut on the Mr. Olympia stage. The event is set for October 9-12 in Las Vegas, Nevada. Don’t miss Fitness Volt’s full coverage!
