Classic Physique standout Wesley Vissers has emerged as one of Chris Bumstead’s greatest threats thanks to his recent success. In an interview, Vissers discussed the compounds he uses in his steroid cycle and opened up on his diet and physique goals for 2024 Mr. Olympia.
Despite finishing seventh at the 2023 Olympia, Wesley Vissers made a massive statement at the latest 2024 Arnold Classic. Boasting next-level symmetry and striations, Vissers stole the show en route to defeating former champion Ramon Queiroz. Two weeks later at the 2024 Arnold Classic UK, Vissers capitalized on his season’s momentum with another victory.
Having defeated one of ‘Cbum’s’ most notable threats on the Arnold Classic stage, fans are in agreement that Vissers will be one to watch this October, but first, the Classic Physique star broke down his cycle, diet, and ambitions for the future.
Wesley Vissers Opens Up on Steroid Cycle, Fat Burners, Diet, and His 2024 Mr. Olympia Plan
According to Vissers, his steroid cycle has remained similar for years. He uses a base of testosterone in combination with Masteron and Primobolan to keep his estrogen stabilized.

“It’s the same as I’ve been doing the last couple of years. You always start with of course a testosterone base in combination with either masteron or primo to keep the estrogen in check to make sure that’s at least at the same level so it doesn’t mask your progress with water weight or different physiques,” said Wesley Vissers.
Vissers makes it clear that dosages are highly dependent on the person’s development in the sport.
“You want to keep estrogen pretty much stable and lowering it towards the end but you pretty much start out with test, mast, and primo, now the amounts you use, I mean, of course, you can be very transparent about it. But, everybody it depends on how far into your development you are.”
When he notices a drop-off in strength weeks from a bodybuilding show, sometimes Vissers considers adding Trenbolone or Anavar.
“It’s relative,” adds Vissers. “You may notice usually this happens six weeks out or something that your strength might decline. You might add something, you might increase something like tren for example for a boost in strength or anavar you might add it in at the pre workout to keep strength high.”
Instead of sticking with a regimented steroid cycle, Vissers underscores that he takes compounds based on when his body needs them.
“I like to use those compounds on a needs basis. So whenever you notice that your physique requires something only then you add it in. It’s not just a plan you know beforehand you know okay, we’re going to do this and regardless of how you respond, this is the plan.”
Vissers believes it’s important to understand your blood work to reap the most benefits possible from fat burners.
“The fat burners, I am a fan of keeping the thyroid hormones at a hormone replacement level as well right from the start. Not higher because if you go higher it might actually impact your physique negatively as well,” said Vissers.
“Everyone thinks the more fat burners you use the more fat you would burn but there’s definitely a fine balance here,” said Vissers. “Do your blood work and see if your t3 and t4 are in those reference ranges.”
He specified that when he hits a plateau at the ‘first part’ of his prep, he uses clenbuterol.
“Hitting a plateau like the first part of your prep, the fat loss should come for a caloric deficit and an activity level. Once you’ve done a few steps in those, activity is high, calories are low, and you slow down with your progress then you put in something like clenbuterol again based on the feedback your body is giving you.”
As for his diet, Vissers eats fruit daily with meals and regularly consumes whey protein.
“Yeah, [fruit] it adds so many benefits. It adds the fiber needed to for example lower cholesterol, slow down gastric emptying, making sure you can actually absorb all the protein and it adds the minerals and vitamins for your metabolism.”
“I like to use a lot of whole foods in my diet in combination with certain supplements like I love to use a lot of whey myself. I think it’s just a very useful tool and a delicious way to get high-quality protein in. I’ve been using it for like years every single day pretty much.”
He specified that two of his meals are whey-based and the other four consist of proteins like fish, chicken, beef, turkey, and salmon.
“Two meals would be with whey and four meals would be with either fish or chicken or beef, turkey, salmon, stuff like this. Pretty much every day it’s just a little different. I don’t follow a plan that is super strict.”
Given that he has yet to reach his weight cap in Classic Physique, Vissers still has room to grow and remains optimistic about his future.
“I still have room to grow anyway. It’s giving me great perspective for the future that I’m not super against the weight limits yet. The future is still bright in terms of improving the physique.”
To defeat Chris Bumstead at 2024 Olympia, Vissers plans to improve his glutes, adductors, hamstrings, and quads.
“The legs in general but mostly the hamstrings, adductors, and the glutes, so pretty much the posterior chain of my lower body still can improve. I think the quads themselves they will keep growing anyway.”
“It’s not like my quads are a weak point per se, but it’s because my upper body is so dominant that my quads could use some more size but in terms of the ranking of what I would like to improve the most, it would be the hamstrings, and glutes and adductors first and then the quads.”
This wasn’t Vissers’ first time mapping out his plans for the future. Recently, the Dutch native shared his goal to bring the golden era back to Mr. Olympia later this year. Given his success as of late, fans are looking forward to seeing what’s next for the aspiring Pro.
Always up for a candid discussion, Vissers remains one of the most talked about Classic Physique contenders in the league. The 2024 Mr. Olympia competition will return to Las Vegas, Nevada from October 10-13, where he will aim to cement his name amongst the best in his class.
