Joe Weider’s 58th 2022 Mr. Olympia competition has taken over Las Vegas, Nevada, with the best bodybuilders from the Wellness category battling for the sport’s most important title. Over 30 competitors were qualified to compete at this year’s Olympia show in the Wellness division. They gathered on Friday morning at 9 am for the prejudging segment of the contest.
Last year’s 2021 Olympia contest showcased the debut of the Wellness division. Since then, the category has exploded in popularity. After a very exciting show last Dec., Francielle Mattos walked away as the inaugural Wellness Olympia champion. However, she is set to face a growing number of threats en route to winning another title this weekend.
Top 2021 finishers Yarishna Ayala, Isabella Nunes, and Angela Borges all brought outstanding packages on Friday morning. Considering the depth of talent, many fans on social media are labeling this year’s Wellness Olympia even more exciting than the 2021 event.

As prejudging went along, six ladies separated themselves from the rest with great stage presence and balanced physiques. The 2021 inaugural Wellness Olympia champ, Francielle Mattos was among them as well as Rayane Fogal de Souza Santana, Isabelle Nunes, Giselle Machado, Angela Borges, and Kassandra Gillis.
Given the number of competitors at this show, judges slowly chipped away at the lineup with a series of call-outs. From what prejudging offered, it would seem anyone in the final call-out has the potential to walk away as the 2022 Wellness Olympia champion.
