The 2026 Arnold Sports Festival lit up Columbus, Ohio, with several impactful moments shaking the stage from March 5-8. During the final ceremony on March 7, bodybuilding legend Dexter Jackson received the Arnold Classic Lifetime Achievement Award.
Dexter Jackson proved himself in the IFBB Pro League for over two decades, standing out in multiple eras. In 2008, he reached the pinnacle of his career. Against the odds, he took out Jay Cutler to capture his lone Mr. Olympia title. He holds the record for most Men’s Open bodybuilding titles and the most Arnold Classic championships (2005, 2006, 2008, 2013, 2015).
He battled against icons like Cutler, Phil Heath, Ronnie Coleman, and Dennis Wolf. While Jackson wasn’t known for his monstrous size, he made his mark in the division thanks to his conditioning and balanced aesthetics. For a bodybuilder, he boasted insane longevity and competed at over 50 against world-class talent.
Even today, Jackson still trains consistently and remains in spectacular shape. Nicknamed “The Blade,” partly due to his success across multiple decades, Jackson’s work ethic was undeniable, and he was a massive star in the Men’s Open.
Bodybuilder Dexter Jackson Recipient of 2026 Arnold Classic Lifetime Achievement Award
Arnold Schwarzenegger gave his thoughts on Jackson’s bodybuilding contributions over the years:
“You’ve heard everything about Dexter; his great accomplishments but you can see with the footage you saw, this man wasn’t the most muscular man in the world; he had a beautiful body,” shared Schwarzenegger. “That’s what made him a Mr. Olympia and Arnold Classic champion.”
“He continued on promoting the sport of bodybuilding. He trains people and does things worldwide. It’s unbelievable what he’s done.”

At 56 years old, Dexter Jackson reflected on his latest achievement:
“I said I wasn’t going to cry and started before I even got up here,” Jackson shared. “First of all, I want to thank and say it’s an honor to be here tonight receiving this award. I want to thank God. Over the last few years, my life has really changed.”
“I want to thank my family for always supporting me throughout my career,” he added. “After winning the Arnold Classic for the third time, 2005, 2006, 2008, I started to get confidence and felt I could probably win Olympia. That dream became a reality in 2008. I won the Arnold Classic and the Mr. Olympia that same year. Let me tell you: I was on cloud nine.”
“I now stand here receiving the Lifetime Achievement Award from you, and I thank you.”
Jackson isn’t the only bodybuilding juggernaut to earn the prestigious Arnold Classic Lifetime Achievement Award. Over the years, Arnold Schwarzenegger has honored Coleman, Cutler, Flex Wheeler, and Golden Era bodybuilder Mike Katz.
The 2026 Arnold Classic continues to cater to fitness fans from around the world. Seven IFBB Pro League divisions have squared off in pursuit of massive cash prizes, Olympia qualifications, and bragging rights. While he didn’t have to put on a pair of posing trunks tonight, Dexter Jackson can hold his head high; fans and bodybuilders won’t forget the impact he left on the sport.
Our staff at Fitness Volt congratulates Dexter Jackson on his iconic 2026 Arnold Classic Lifetime Achievement Award. He continues to elevate the sport’s popularity in retirement, beyond the stage.
