Retired Men’s Open bodybuilder Dennis Wolf is still sporting a physique many of us dream of having. In a recent Instagram post shared on Nov. 5, 2025, “The Big Bad Wolf” showed off his lean, aesthetic, and ripped physique at 47.

In the 2000s era of bodybuilding, Wolf was an absolute menace onstage. Standing at 5’11”, his stature helped give him an edge against shorter competitors. Some of his poses were literally jaw-dropping, like his back double biceps and lat spread. Despite never winning the prestigious Sandow trophy, Wolf gave top-tier threats a run for their money, from former four-time champ Jay Cutler to “The King,” Ronnie Coleman

The biggest victory of Wolf’s career came at the 2014 Arnold Classic. To wear the crown, he took out a stacked roster, including the late 2018 Mr. Olympia Shawn Rhoden, Cedric McMillan, Victor Martinez, Branch Warren, and 2019 Mr. O Brandon Curry. Wolf also cemented his legacy with dominant triumphs at the Australian Pro and Prague Pro.

Today, Wolf still keeps a watchful eye over the Men’s Open class. He routinely speaks about the growing division on Dennis James’ The Menace podcast. When Wolf isn’t breaking down the sport’s current events, he focuses on maintaining his chiseled physique.

In the Instagram post, Wolf shared a black and white shot of his upper body. Despite years away from the stage, he’s retained impressive density, detail, and fullness.

Fitness and lasting health are Wolf’s top priorities in his forties. Although he wishes he could lift as heavy as he did when he was weighing 315 pounds, the bodybuilding veteran approaches life differently, with less focus on gym feats and personal records.

ā€œThis is about the fact that health is a non-negotiable value. The numbers on the scale or in your bench press mean nothing compared to the numbers in your medical records.I want to spread not just workout plans, but healthy thoughts.ā€

ā€œDon’t wait for warning signs — sometimes they sound more like glass shattering than a gentle ring! Love yourself. Get checked. Take care of what you’ve been given.”

Dennis Wolf isn’t the only retired bodybuilder to remain in tremendous shape. Lee Labrada, the father of active IFBB Pro Hunter Labrada, hasn’t slowed down since laying down his posing trunks. For over 40 years, Labrada has boasted muscular legs, arms, and a six-pack

Wolf is making sure health remains his top concern off the stage. At 47 years old, he is the perfect example of longevity in bodybuilding.
