Two months have already passed since the 2018 World’s Strongest Man, Hafthor Björnsson, defeated Eddie Hall via unanimous decision in what was titled ‘The Heaviest Boxing Match In History’. It has taken both men a few years to prepare for that match. However, Hafthor Björnsson had been training long before the bout to reach his previous goals. It is needless to say that he has excelled in everything he did, and it looked like Hafthor would just continue impressing everyone in many sports.

However, Hafthor Björnsson is a human being like everyone else, so it was just a matter of time until he encountered some setbacks. This just turned out to happen after his victory over Eddie Hall. Hafthor states that he is currently lacking motivation and dedication, as he has no big goals to strive for. Björnsson has also lost some weight, as he currently weighs in at 146 kilograms (322 pounds). For context, his bodyweight at the time of the fight was 6 kilograms (13 pounds) heavier.

“Body weight 146kg. Haven’t been 100% with my diet or training lately. I’m human like everyone else and I’m going through a period in my life where I’m not 100% focused or dedicated all the time. It’s weird because for the last 10+ years of my life I’ve been super focused and driven because I’ve always had a goal to strive towards. Being in the unknown now has my motivation lacking a bit. If you are lacking motivation at this moment, know that it’s normal and we all go through that.”

Hafthor Björnsson is now searching for another opponent to continue his boxing career. Eddie Hall fulfilled his wager, which made him eligible for a rematch. However, Hafthor Björnsson thinks that it is not the right time for that and is currently trying to find a new opponent.

The most talked-about possibility for Hafthor seems to be Martyn Ford, who had a scheduled fight against the Iranian Hulk, but it did not come to fruition. Both men possess a similar physique and have previous fighting experience, so it could be an interesting bout.

The career of Hafthor Björnsson has led him to success in multiple spheres, including strongman, acting, and now fighting. Hafthor, known as the Mountain from the Game of Thrones series, is regarded as one of the greatest Strongman athletes of all time.
