Joseph Baena, son of bodybuilding icon Arnold Schwarzenegger, has gained a ton of momentum over the last few years. In a recent post made on Instagram, Baena shared his killer pull-day workout for building muscle mass and strength.
Baena first rose to prominence for his unreal resemblance to his father. Although Baena did not grow up with Arnold, he found a passion for working out and followed in his father’s footsteps. He made headlines for showing off his lean physique while hitting one of ‘The Austrian Oak’s signature poses in Jan. 2022.
Joseph teamed up with social media fitness influencer Bradley Martyn for a quick lower-body training session last August. He admitted he wasn’t always as fit growing up and developed an addiction to the gym after receiving a bodybuilding encyclopedia from his father. Baena left the fans stunned after recreating some of Arnold’s famous bodybuilding poses. While he’s not as jacked as Arnold, Baena looked like a dead ringer of his father.
Baena collaborated with fitness sensation Mike O’Hearn for an intense arms workout. They appeared to get along well and regrouped for another grueling arms training session later. O’Hearn shared his wisdom with Baena and strengthened their partnership with another old-school back workout focused on longevity.

Besides working out, Baena explored his interest in entertainment. In Sep. 2022, Baena gave fans a look into the fierce shoulder workout he utilized to get ready for his debut on season 31 of Dancing With The Stars.
Baena enlisted the help of bodybuilding legend Robby Robinson and O’Hearn to improve his posing. Robinson guided him through a series of poses while offering tips on refining his posing abilities.
Last October, Joseph Baena went viral for bringing another of his father’s iconic looks to life. He performed a brief posing routine while donning a leather kilt to resemble Arnold’s look from the 1982 film, Conan The Barbarian. He further revealed he dropped 10 pounds after six weeks of competing on the show in a ripped physique update days later.
Joseph Baena shares killer pull-day workout routine
In a recent Instagram post, Joseph Baena shared a brutal pull-day workout routine to add muscle mass and build strength.
“I always start my back pump with pull-up,” wrote Baena. “An essential exercise for filling up the back and widening the lats!”
Baena’s killer pull-day workout routine:
- Pull-ups
- Reverse grip pull-downs
- Bent over rows
- Close grip pull downs
- Chest supported rows
- Barbell bicep curls (for the juicy pump)
Last month, Joseph Baena partnered with O’Hearn for a taxing shoulder workout. Since he was focused on enhancing his dancing skills for the dance reality show, Baena stressed the need to minimize the chance of injury. O’Hearn lauded the improvements Baena made with the help of dancing practice in terms of balance, explosiveness, and body movement.
Baena declared his ambitions to lead an action film or play a superhero this year. He’s fully dedicated to working his way up in Hollywood and discounted the idea of competing as a professional bodybuilder.
