Urs Kalecinski‘s attention and effort are focused on winning the next Classic Physique Olympia title. On June 8, 2025, he took to a recent YouTube video to discuss the top contenders expected to clash in Vegas this October.
There’s a vacant throne for the taking in the Classic Physique category. In 2024, Chris Bumstead secured his sixth consecutive victory at the Mr. Olympia but decided to step away from the sport. Contenders are eager to take his position as the number one Classic Physique talent in the world. Mike Sommerfeld took a close second behind ‘Cbum’ at the Olympia and won the 2025 Arnold Classic.
As for Kalecinski, he’s been hovering around gold for three years. He’s taken bronze in his last three Mr. Olympias and believes this season could be the year he puts it all together. Below, he gave his thoughts on who could claim glory when the best meet for a showdown.
Urs Kalecinski Discusses Who Will Win the 2025 Classic Physique Olympia Title
In the recent YouTube video, Kalecinski confirmed that this year’s Olympia will be the toughest of his career. The stakes couldn’t be higher as he seeks to win his first title at the prestigious contest.

“It’s going to be the toughest one in all the years. The lineup is deep, of course, it’s the Olympia, but I think five, six, seven people or five people could win it.”
Ultimately, he believes it will come down to who peaks best on show day.
“I think it comes down to the show day,” he adds. “Who’s going to nail this once-in-a-lifetime shape? We saw it for example, from Wesley at the Arnold. We saw it from Mike the last Olympia. We saw it from Logan at the Arnold. Those are those once-in-a-lifetime looks.”
“I was slipping at the Arnold where Wesley won, Ramon slipped last year or last Olympia. That can happen. I think in Classic, it’s a crazy battle between those guys.”
Despite Sommerfeld’s momentum, Kalecinski doesn’t believe there’s a clear standout heading into the competition.
“It’s super, super, super close. I wouldn’t say there is a guy who is the standout. Of course, Mike looked great, but Mike is now in the top for the first time, for example. What’s hard is to stay at the top mentally, not physically.”
Kalecinski has been getting in training with popular names in Classic Physique ahead of the Olympia. He recently worked out alongside Sam Sulek, who earned his IFBB Pro card with a dominant performance at the 2025 Arnold Amateur.
With just under four months until the biggest contest of the year, Kalecinski is eyeing a history-making performance. The 2025 Mr. Olympia will be held in Las Vegas, Nevada, from October 10-13.
