Bodybuilder Urs Kalecinski is already mapping out his plans for the 2027 bodybuilding season. In an October 12 video, he said he’s pushing 300 pounds and that he’s eyeing a possible run at the New York Pro and Pittsburgh Pro next year.

Kalecinski established himself as a top-tier Classic Physique competitor before switching to the Men’s Open. He quietly bulked up and shocked the world at the 2025 ProMuscle Italy Pro. Kalecinski held his own against elite Open stars, including Quinton Eriya, Marc Hector, and Sergio Oliva Jr.

“The Miracle Bear” made a quick turnaround at the 2025 Europa Pro Championships, going 2-0 during the season. In his debut at last year’s Olympia, Kalecinski presented a solid package, but finished outside the first callout in 13th place. While he initially planned to compete in 2026, the bodybuilding star changed his plans after getting sick. Now looking ahead, Kalecinski is sharing what might come next.

Urs Kalecinski Plans to Bring His Best in 2027, Expresses Interest in New York Pro and Pittsburgh Pro

In the Beyond the Stage TV interview, Kalecinski revealed his weight is hovering around 295 pounds with plans to bring his best next year.

“I am weighing like close to 300 now, 295-ish,” said Kalecinski. “But the weight is not everything. It’s about the illusion, and we want to create a great illusion. Still working with Stefan, my coach, my team since eight years. He’s the best guy in the corner. We plan out to bring the best bear next year.”

“We’ll see [about winning the Mr. Olympia]. I’m totally realistic. I chose the Open category now, so it takes time. That’s what I can also tell the upcoming generation. Don’t go too hard.”

Multiple shows are on his radar in 2027, but Kalecinski named Pittsburgh and New York as possible stops:

“There are great shows. There is Pittsburgh, the New York shows. All shows I would always love to do because I only have, like, Arnold and Olympia, Arnold and Olympia, the past five years, as you guys may know. So, yeah, maybe next year, I’m going to shoot for something more at the mid of the year, mid-to-end of the year, and hope to get the qualification for next year’s Olympia, the big dance.”

“We decided to stop the season and get healthy again. Now, we’re back on fire and ready to fire.”

Bodybuilding veterans have been vocal about how Kalecinski can climb the Men’s Open ladder. According to 1990s standout Shawn Ray, “The Miracle Bear” has to add significant size to be a factor. He went on to call Kalecinski a top-six threat at the Mr. Olympia when he’s on the money.

For the time being, Kalecinski is focused on adding size and coming back better. Time will tell if he jumps into the New York or Pittsburgh Pro to nail down that mid-year Olympia qualification.
