The 2022 Arnold Classic was a two-day extravaganza for Men’s Open competitors. Brandon Curry took home first place at the second most prestigious show of the year.
On Friday from 7:00 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. bodybuilders from across the globe took part in the Arnold Classic in hopes of securing a major title. Saturday saw the Open Men’s competitors take the stage for the finals as the show kicked off at 7:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.
2021 Arnold Classic champ Nick Walker has opted not to compete this year so he could solely focus on preparing for Mr. Olympia in Dec. Nevertheless, the lineup is stacked with talent and will see the return of 2020 Arnold Classic champion William Bonac.
In the leadup to the event, most fans pegged Brandon Curry as an early favorite since he won the 2019 Arnold Classic and 2019 Mr. Olympia. After coming in second place the last two years at Olympia, Brandon appears to have taken the criticism to heart and worked on improving his legs.
The show didn’t lack excitement and there was a number of younger bodybuilders who had a huge impact on the results. Regan Grimes and Brett Wilkin made waves on Friday, and still have plenty of room to grow as bodybuilders.
In one of the most stacked lineups at the 2022 Arnold Classic, it was Brandon Curry who pulled off first place. The judges made all of the competitors work hard on stage. Drama was high on Saturday night as William Bonac put forth an impressive overall package. However, Brandon Curry won the Arnold Classic Men’s Open title with Bonac coming in second. Steve Kuclo trailed behind in third place and brought a well-rounded physique.
