Bodybuilding Legend Lee Labrada Shares His Current Biceps Training Routine at 62

Check out the effective bicep-building training routine by the bodybuilding legend Lee Labrada, who is still using it at 62 years old.

Bodybuilding icon Lee Labrada etched his name in the history books as one of the most consistent Men’s Open competitors of all time. In a recent post made on Instagram, Labrada shared his current biceps training routine at 62 years old.

Lee Labrada gained attention for his impressive physique in the IFBB Pro League during the late 80s and early 90s. He proved to be one of the most disciplined athletes in the sport, racking up a top-four placing seven years in a row. He got inducted into the IFBB Pro League Hall of Fame in 2004.

Although he moved on from competition years ago, Labrada still has his pulse on bodybuilding. He teamed up with the two-time Arnold Classic champion Terrence Ruffin for a posing session in August 2021. He urged the Classic Physique standout to play to his strengths and to take advantage of each pose and transition.

Labrada is one of the few who have maintained a high level of fitness in their later years. The 62-year-old showed off his insane quad development last August. He followed that up with another workout where he crushed the belt squat machine for reps.

A few months ago, he opened up about his passion for weight training and regular exercise which has kept him in stellar shape. Labrada also talked about the roadmap for his son Hunter Labrada, who competes in the Men’s Open division. Lee would like to see Hunter retire young once he’s won a Sandow trophy.

Labrada expressed his disapproval of the judging criteria in modern bodybuilding. He argued that posing was not being awarded properly, leading to a lack of proper posing by competitors today. He criticized scoring muscle mass and size too heavily over other aspects such as symmetry, balance, and proportions.

Lee Labrada shares bicep training routine

In a recent Instagram post, Lee Labrada shared the bicep workout he’s currently using to stay in shape. 

“Who can’t use an extra 1/2” on their arms?” he wrote.

Lee Labrada’s current biceps workout (3 sets of 10 reps for each exercise):

  • Preacher Curls
  • Concentration Curls
  • Dumbbell Hammer Curls

Warm up with light weights before beginning your 3 sets. On the final set go to positive failure.

Lee Labrada shared an efficient leg training plan as well, designed to alleviate pressure on the spine. He suggested the workout was ideal for older people or for those suffering with back problems. He also encouraged his fans to warm up before lifting. His latest lesson will surely be used by many who want to maximize their gains Labrada-style.
