Hunter Labrada isn’t letting outside opinions sway his confidence heading into the most important event of the year. In a recent YouTube video published on October 8, 2024, Labrada discussed not letting naysayers get in the way of turning in an epic performance at the 2024 Mr. Olympia, taking place October 10-13 in Las Vegas, Nevada.
As an IFBB Pro, Hunter Labrada has already reached incredible heights, having followed in the footsteps of his father, Open legend Lee Labrada. He’s placed as high as fourth on the prestigious Mr. Olympia stage (2021) and continues to improve before our eyes.
Labrada took sixth place in his last outing at the Mr. Olympia, showcasing impressive mass complemented by bursting fullness. He utilized a lengthy off-season to rectify his gut health, which he believes may have worked against his physique, most notably his core and abdomen.
Hunter Labrada Discusses His Physique and Why He Isn’t Listening to Naysayers Ahead of the 2024 Mr. Olympia
He gambled on himself, entering a last-minute qualifier at the 2024 Promuscle Italy Pro. It turned out to be an astute move, as Labrada walked away victorious without much resistance. Not only that, but he brought an all-time best look, leaving fans excited about what he has in store for the 2024 Mr. Olympia competition this weekend.
Hunter Labrada has been working hard on fine-tuning his physique ahead of the 2024 Mr. Olympia, boasting his impressive improvements on social media. This has led to Labrada facing negative comments, however, he made it clear he isn’t letting the naysayers get to him.
“I think it’s a couple of things. I think for a lot of people out there the only way they’ll ever experience my physique is pictures or videos and I know that’s like a no-shit Hunter moment but I don’t know what it is but my physique translates so poor in pictures and videos. It’s like a running joke amongst anyone that’s ever seen me at this point.”

Labrada emphasized that pictures don’t do his physique justice and believes that some individuals are still judging him harshly based on his placings in the past.
“Anyone who has seen me in person and sees pictures, they’re like oh that’s not what I saw with my eyes. So I think that has a lot to do with it. I still think the internet is mad about Nick and I’s first Olympia, talking about Nick and I, whenever I got fourth and he got fifth. It is what it is, I didn’t judge the show. People are still upset about that I feel like.”
“We live in a day and age where people — everyone has an opinion and everyone wants to shout it,” shares Labrada.
When it comes to facing negative comments, Hunter Labrada doesn’t let it disrupt his peace.
“In terms of the Olympia prediction, really, like anything else, we’d kind of stayed kind of even-keeled my whole career, that is something I have prided myself on actually. There’s very few things in this world that are worth my peace.
“I don’t like being kept up at night or waking up anxious about things. I’m very much so of the opinion that if you aren’t my family or working with me, I don’t really care about your opinion, especially random people on the internet that I’m never ever ever going to meet. I’m not going to lie it gets old after a while.”
Hunter Labrada believes anyone who understands bodybuilding on a deep level, is not counting him out of the biggest event of the year.
“I’m not going to let it affect my peace at all. As far as predictions heading into the Olympia, I’m going to say that people who actually know bodybuilding aren’t counting me out,” explains Labrada.
“A lot of people who are arm-chair quarterbacks and basically Instagram bodybuilding fans are, so I know what I’m capable of so we’ll see.”
The Men’s Open star revealed that he is tipping the scales at 263 pounds in a recent physique update. He emphasized that his focus isn’t on his weight but rather on coming in as shredded as possible. He also walked fans through a full day of eating to help him prepare for the 2024 Mr. Olympia stage.
Hunter Labrada is adamant that what he brings to this competition will be miles above what pictures could ever portray! Fans can look forward to seeing Hunter Labrada and the rest of their favorite bodybuilders compete at the 60th anniversary of the Mr. Olympia event in just a few short days.
