Samson Dauda is entering the final stages of his 2026 Mr. Olympia prep. In a September 4 video, he broke down his plans to create the ‘ultimate look’ onstage with crazy conditioning and grainy skin. Additionally, he opened up about which of his mandatory poses needs the most improvement.
In 2024, Samson Dauda shocked the world and became the 19th Mr. Olympia winner. He attempted to defend the title a year later, but his goal of better conditioning backfired. It watered down his rear poses, pushing him outside the podium in fourth place.
Dauda tried to bounce back at the Prague Pro in his next outing. However, he still hadn’t regained the size he lost. Ultimately, he settled for second place behind Martin Fitzwater. He’s taken a lengthy off-season in the meantime, and now it looks like the time away from the stage is about to pay off. But first, he plans to hit a warm-up show at the Europa Pro and carry that momentum into the Olympia.
Samson Dauda Promises a Wider Back and ‘Crazy Condition’ for 2026 Mr. Olympia
In the video, Dauda opened up about his improvements for the Mr. Olympia. Beyond a wider, thicker back, he also expects to show harder conditioning onstage.
“A lot. I think this one is not just the idea of, okay, your conditioning is going to be better, but it’s the idea of improving muscle groups as well. The back is a lot wider and thicker than it was over there [at 2024 Olympia]. The conditioning is a lot harder and grainier than it was over there. That’s something I’ve never been able to get is that paper-tight, grainy skin. Funny enough, it was all because of last year.”
He believes that combining crazy conditioning with the size he recently added will create the ultimate Mr. Olympia look.
“Because of last year and how I was able to dial it down so much, I learned a trick to really pull my skin into that mode. We took the lesson from last year and put it into this year. We put a lot more muscle on in the off-season. Now, we want to get that crazy condition we haven’t had before and combine both to create the ultimate look this year.”
“This is a look I’m hoping it’s going to be something people look and say they’ve never seen anything like that before,” Samson Dauda said.
As for his presentation, Dauda shared that his side triceps pose needed the most work:
“One of the poses I didn’t like was the side triceps. Because at that point, with the Olympia then, we did a lot of work working on our midsection. One thing I didn’t like, as good as that 2024 look was, I never really liked how my midsection was. I wanted it to be a lot smaller, tighter, and a lot more compressed in. The last three years, we’ve really worked a lot on that.”
Dauda has seemingly taken note of Phil Heath’s recent statement. “The Gift” made it clear that if Dauda comes to the 2026 Olympia peeled, ‘it’s a wrap’ for his competition. Former Olympia winner Samir Bannout also predicted a big night for Dauda if his upper body matches the detail of his legs.
Dauda is on track to present one of the freakiest physiques the modern bodybuilding industry has witnessed. The 2026 Mr. Olympia is set for September 24-27 in Las Vegas, Nevada. The livestream is completely free, and Fitness Volt will have live play-by-play coverage.
