Not only will he show his support, but Dave Bautista was selected by Dan Solomon and Jake Wood as this year’s Honorary Ambassador for the 2023 Mr. Olympia.
Every year, the Honorary Ambassador for Olympia is chosen to promote the biggest bodybuilding competition of the year and attract new fans to the fitness industry. This person is responsible for raising awareness and promoting the show. This year, Dave Bautista was chosen for this honor. He will serve as the face of the competition and encourage others to get involved in bodybuilding.
Dave Bautista is a former WWE wrestler and an actor who is most well known for his role in the Marvel Guardians of the Galaxy movie franchise. During his time wrestling, Bautista would earn many accolades including becoming a six-time world champion, complete with four World Heavyweight Championships, and a pair of WWE Championships.
Following his leave from the WWE in 2010, Bautista would go on to re-sign twice before officially retiring from wrestling in 2019. Though Bautista had an illustrious career in wrestling, he also trained in Brazilian jiu-jitsu where he worked non-stop for years to finally earn a black belt. Dave Bautista would also take on and defeat Vince Lucero in a first-round TKO in his stand-alone MMA fight.

Dave Bautista’s influence in acting and the fitness community makes him a perfect choice for the Olympia Honorary Ambassador position. Bautista shared his excitement for being chosen in a recent Instagram post and showed off his best most muscular pose variation.
“I’ve just been informed that I have been named the Honorary Ambassador for the 2023 Olympia weekend courtesy of my man Dan Solomon and Jake Wood. So thank you guys I really appreciate this opportunity I will see you there. I will see everybody there November 2-5 in Orlando, Florida for the Olympia!”-Dave Bautista said.
In previous years we have seen the four-time Mr. Olympia winner Jay Cutler hold the position of Honorary Ambassador as well as Shaquille O’Neal in 2020. In 2021, Lee Haney took the honor while celebrating his 30th anniversary of breaking Arnold Schwarzenegger’s record with his eighth Mr. Olympia win.
