Nick Walker is on the verge of making his highly anticipated comeback. On May 1, 2025, Hany Rambod, a 25-time Olympia-winning coach, critiqued and rated Walker’s physique from the 2022 Mr. Olympia contest, where he secured third place.
Walker has dealt with some career speed bumps lately. In 2023, he was forced to pull out of the Mr. Olympia after injuring his calf and hamstring. While he made a successful return at the New York Pro to pick up a second title, he wasn’t able to make it to the 2024 Olympia and admitted that his body wasn’t responding to the demands of prep.
He announced his entry for the 2025 Pittsburgh Pro. The event is set to host the Men’s Open division for the first time, and for Walker, it’s the perfect opportunity for redemption. If he finds success, not only will he earn his ticket to this year’s Mr. Olympia, but a win over Derek Lunsford would give him undeniable momentum heading into the biggest show of the season.
Hany Rambod Critiques and Rates Nick Walker’s Physique
In a recent YouTube video, Rambod assessed Walker’s physique, providing insight into his strengths and weaknesses.
Front Double Biceps
In the front double biceps pose, Rambod didn’t see many areas that needed major improvements.
“His arms are about the size of his head. Huge biceps, huge tricep, a lot of muscle fullness from top to bottom looks really really good. I personally love the arch of that tricep and that crazy bicep peak is looking on point,” he shared.

However, he did point out Walker’s varicose veins, which have been a subject of criticism for him in the past.
“Putting together the varicose veins, everyone talks about those things, they are a situation where it does detract from his physique a bit. A lot of people tend to bring them up, but again, there’s only so much you can do with those.”
Side Chest
Critiquing Walker’s side chest pose, Rambod said he could use more hamstrings and detail from the side of the quad.
“A little more in terms of hamstring from the side, a little bit more detail from the side of that quad. When you start seeing some of those extra striations and you got a little bit more of that graininess, it really shows that grainy almost like a beef jerky look to it that’s super dry. That gives you those microstriations that really look awesome onstage.”
Back Double Biceps
Rambod suggested Walker continue with bent-over rows and other rowing variations to increase the density in his upper back.
“Upper back looks good, but I feel like he could have a little more density. We’ll talk a little bit more about that. I do feel as he does more rows, he’ll be able to work on that.”
As long as he continues with bent-over rows, Rambod believes he’ll likely make this shot even more powerful in time.
“Doing just continuing the bent over rows, he has a good back, but it could be even better especially when you’re trying to match up your delt to that crazy bicep, that fullness, the peak, and the triceps, just being able to get those shoulders to match up and then you got to match up the back to the shoulders to the arms because they all work together.”
Most Muscular
Rambod shared that Walker could improve this pose by adding size to his shoulders.
“The biggest thing here is he can still continue though to grow the shoulders to match those arms,” explained Rambod. “Even as good as they are they could be just a little bit better.”
In addition, he mentioned that Walker should add more condition to his quads to make the leg separation pop more.
“Could he be just a little bit more conditioned in there [outer quads], absolutely,” he said. “We’re going to be able to get those hip flexors to really pop, get a little more separation and I think that’s going to help a little bit more.”
Hany Rambod’s Rating: 8.9
Rambod gave Walker’s physique from the 2022 Mr. Olympia an overall score of 8.9.
“This is third place at the 2022 Mr. Olympia. I rate this physique at 8.9. So, again, third place, very good finish. I’m expecting him to exceed this look come two weeks in Pittsburgh. Do not want to miss the Pittsburgh show, it’s going to be an absolutely stacked lineup.”
This wasn’t Rambod’s first time critiquing a high-profile physique. He recently assessed and rated the Open physique of Chris Bumstead, who made his splash in the division at the 2024 EVLS Prague Pro in second place behind Martin Fitzwater.
Fans are ready to see Nick Walker back in action at the 2025 Pittsburgh Pro. Fitness Volt will have live coverage of the event, which is slated for May 10-11!
