British bodybuilder James Hollingshead has been a regular feature of the Men’s Open division in the last few years. After turning in a strong season, he’s focused on making improvements in the off-season before his next outing. In a recent video uploaded on YouTube, Hollingshead shared his full day of eating while in recovery from a gynecomastia surgery.
James Hollingshead first rose to prominence for his massive muscle mass and size in the IFBB Pro League in 2018. He emerged as a promising prospect out of the UK and delivered a strong season in 2019. The next year, Hollingshead made waves after dominating the competition at the 2020 Europa Pro Championships to score his first victory. He followed up by getting back-to-back wins at the 2020 British Grand Prix.
The wins earned him an invite to the annual Mr. Olympia contest. However, he chose to sit out the event with plans to level up his package for a showing in the next edition of the show. He set his sights on the 2021 Mr. Olympia in hopes of cracking the top six.
Hollingshead tested positive for COVID-19 while in prep for the 2021 Mr. Olympia. He was forced to the sidelines mid-season but did not let the setback hold him down for too long. He managed to recover in time for the show and was feeling confident about his chances of beating the likes of former champion Brandon Curry. In the end, he slotted in 12th place.

James Hollingshead admitted thinking about hanging up his posing trunks despite being in his prime. While he considered the possibility, he chose to continue competing. He crushed a grueling shoulders and tricep workout and issued an impressive physique update in the 2022 off-season. Then, he showed off his insane strength by squatting 750 pounds for three reps in a heavy leg day session.
The 34-year-old left the fans in awe of his ripped physique in the build-up to the 2022 Arnold Classic UK, where he took the bronze medal behind Patrick Johnson and champion Andrew Jacked. Hollingshead scored gold in his next appearance at the 2022 Tsunami Cup.
