When Jay Cutler hit the iconic quad stomp pose at the 2009 Olympia, he was cementing an iconic moment in bodybuilding history. Fans felt a similar thrill when the legendary bodybuilder flexed his quads to show off the result of his ‘fit for 50’ challenge – as a guest poser at the 2023 Musclecontest FitExpo.
Cutler is one of the greatest bodybuilders in history. He is best known for his insane muscle mass, excellent conditioning and most importantly, for slaying a giant that was Ronnie Coleman. Jay Cutler’s rivalry with Coleman saw him give the best effort for nearly half a decade.
At the 2006 Olympia, he finally managed to defeat Coleman and take home the first Mr. Olympia trophy of his career. Cutler’s win snapped Ronnie Coleman’s eight-year undefeated run. The 50-year-old won the Mr. Olympia title three more times – in 2007, 2009 and 2010.
Since retiring from the sport in 2013, Jay Cutler has become a prominent and responsible voice of the fitness industry. He has maintained an impeccable physique in spite of being downsized from the peak of his bodybuilding career.

When the discussion about his imminent comeback to the stage was heating up in late 2022, Cutler surprised everyone by announcing the real goal he had in mind. With a high-protein diet, training and a little help from TRT, Cutler desired to transform his physique for his 50th birthday and kicked the ‘fit for 50’ challenge.
The 4-time Mr. Olympia trained like a man possessed to achieve the goal and even admitted that he had to force himself to take a day off. A few months into the challenge, Cutler’s physique started to show the results. He added nearly 15 lbs to his frame with a goal to maintain a 6 to 8 percent body fat.
Jay Cutler Shows Off The Results Of ‘Fit for 50’ Challenge
The 2023 MuscleContest FitExpo event took place at the Anaheim Convention Center on August 5-6, 2023. Notable bodybuilders like Jay Cutler, 7-time Mr. Olympia Phil Heath, Chinedu Andrew Obiekea, and Regan Grimes attended the event.
It presented a perfect opportunity for Cutler to show the fruits of his labor for the ‘fit for 50’ challenge as he turned 50 on August 3, 2023. He was cordially invited by Men’s Open competitor Regan Grimes to join him on stage for posing alongside him. Cutler gladly obliged and walked over to the stage.
The duo transitioned through several bodybuilding poses. Jay Cutler’s transformation seemed remarkable, to say the least. It spoke louder than words ever could. The 4-time Mr. Olympia had great muscle definition in the upper body. But the massive legs grabbed attention as the most notable part of his physique. Surprisingly, Jay Cutler’s skin appeared remarkably taut, defying his 50 years of age.
Regan Grimes’ posted the video of this guest posing session on his personal Instagram account. You can watch it below:
“Happy Birthday @jaycutler 50 Years old looking incredible and STILL HUGE! Surreal moment for me getting the opportunity to posedown with Jay in front of this huge crowd at @thefitexpo,” Regan Grimes wrote in the caption to his post.
MuscleContest organizers honored Jay Cutler on stage and presented a beautiful birthday cake for the legend. The whole venue joined in the celebration to wish the legendary bodybuilder. Jay Cutler followed a six meals per-day diet, intense training, and cardio to get in excellent shape at 50. While he did take some help from TRT, the legend did not need to abuse PEDs. In doing so, he has set an excellent example for young bodybuilders and fitness enthusiasts that perceive PED as the only real way to achieve fitness goals.
