In an iron sharpens iron collaboration, Martin Fitzwater and Keone Pearson teamed up to build their lower bodies. On February 3, 2025, ‘The Martian’ and Pearson walked fans through their latest Sam Sulek-inspired leg workout routine.
Martin Fitzwater is surging as a bodybuilder, having registered a jaw-dropping season in 2024. It began with a clear-cut victory at the Detroit Pro, and while he earned his qualification for Olympia, Fitzwater still felt the need to test himself.
He competed against Nick Walker at the New York Pro, where he shocked the world in second place, with many believing he deserved the nod. When the pressure was at its highest, Fitzwater capitalized on the Olympia stage, securing fourth place in a stunning debut.
As for Keone Pearson, he continues to redefine the standards atop the Men’s 212 Bodybuilding division. For the past two years, he’s defeated Shaun Clarida to cement himself as a two-time 212 Olympia titleholder. He joined Fitzwater recently who intends to secure gold at the upcoming 2025 Pittsburgh Pro.

The two discussed the healing process for their gyno surgeries before jumping into the workout.
“We’re getting there. I’m 226. I just started my off-season about three and a half weeks ago. I was out for four weeks because of my gyno surgery. It went great. About three weeks ago I was about 216, now I’m 226 this morning,” said Pearson.
“When I got my surgery bro, I dropped down all the way to 220 and then I was back at like 260 before I started the Texas prep,” shared Fitzwater.
In between hamstring training, Fitzwater talked about some of their most challenging leg day sessions.
“You and I probably going through those ones with Brian, those are still the hardest days. I’m pretty sure he gave us Rhabdo at least twice.
That first leg day we did with him, that shit will forever be burned into my mind. Doing 100 extensions, we thought we were going to do leg extensions he says 100 reps, both Keone and I were thinking okay, 100 reps, then we go to the next exercise that would be hard but cool. But no, we did a set of 100, a set of 75, a set of 50, a set of 25, it was so hard.”
They also bonded over the importance of being mentally tough in bodybuilding.
“Obviously, I want to be Mr. Olympia; there’s nothing I want more than that. At the end of the day, I want people to fall in love with bodybuilding. I want people to see how cool this sport is not just the lifting weights aspect but how mentally tough we are and the battles we go through. That’s the beauty of it.”
As Pearson navigates his health in the off-season, fan anticipation continues to grow for his upcoming title defense at the 2025 Mr. Olympia. Fitzwater, who qualified for the ‘Super Bowl of Bodybuilding’ following his win over ‘Cbum’ at the EVLS Prague Pro, doesn’t intend to sit out ahead of the prestigious event. He’ll battle Nick Walker again at the Pittsburgh Pro in an attempt to solidify his standing for the biggest show of the season.
