The 2021 IPF World Champion, Russel Orhii, has made a decision to miss out on the 2022 IPF World Classic Powerlifting Championships and take part in the 2022 USAPL Mega Nationals instead. The Nationals are taking place from June 7-12, 2022, in Las Vegas, Nevada, and Russel has already begun his domination there. He won the raw 82.5-kilogram weight class very comfortably and claimed two American records while doing so.

Russel Orhii’s first USAPL American record came in the squat event, as he squatted 320.5 kilograms (706.6 pounds). He also held the previous record of 313.5 kilograms (691.1 pounds), which he set at the 2019 USAPL Raw Nationals.

Russel Orhii also set the USAPL American Total Record, as his result after squat, bench, and deadlift came out to 838 kilograms (1,847.5 pounds). He held the previous record in this event as well, since he totaled 833 kilograms (1,836.5 pounds) at the 2019 IPF World Classic Powerlifting Championships.

Great tournament , only negative was the announsers they were all over the place very hard to watch and follow, they talked too much instead of covering the event. Very hard to follow live streaming, they made it so confusing and very frustrating@@!>
