Sadik Hadzovic Says ‘Catastrophic Miscalculation’ Led to 6th Place in Chicago Pro, Aims for Redemption at 2024 Tampa Pro

Men’s Physique star Sadik Hadzovic isn’t putting an end to his bodybuilding season just yet. In a recent YouTube video published on July 24, 2024, Hadzovic discussed the catastrophic miscalculation that led to him placing sixth at the Chicago Pro and laid out his plans for redemption at the nearing 2024 Tampa Pro.

Hadzovic is an experienced IFBB Pro in the Men’s Physique class, who has tested himself at the highest level for years. He finished runner-up at the prestigious Mr. Olympa contest in 2014 and 2015 behind former four-time Men’s Physique Olympia Jeremy Buendia.

Despite his status as an on-paper favorite to win the 2024 Chicago Pro last weekend, fans and judges were taken aback by his lack of ab definition. As a result, he took home sixth place and left the ‘Windy City’ without an Olympia qualification. Undeterred by the setback, Hadzovic reflected on his latest performance and discussed how he plans to correct these issues to dominate the Tampa Pro, taking place August 1-3.

Hadzovic says he missed his peak for Chicago which led to his abs looking washed out on stage.

“No abs, bro, my abs have never looked better. Never looked better bro, then on stage it looks like I did not have one ab bro,” said Sadik Hadzovic. “I have videos and photos from literally the morning of I’m literally looking fucking crazy bro. But really, we fucked up in terms of missing our peak man.”

After dropping 11 pounds to make weight for Men’s Physique, he mentioned that his ‘ceremonial’ meal caused him to spill over.

“Then, we had our ceremonial meal which we always have, the same meal that always works, but I guess with making weight and pulling all the way down from 220 to 209 and then going fasted all the way till 3 p.m. to make weight and then reintroducing the huge meal fucked me up.”

“Peak too early you could look like shit, peak too late, you could look like shit. If you peak on time, then people fucking love you on the internet. God forbid you should have a hiccup or blunder, then people will fucking trash you on the internet,” shares Sadik Hadzovic.

In preparation for the Tampa Pro, Hadzovic intends to come in below his weight cap to ensure a smooth and effective peaking process.

“Just be patient. I have a lot more to come. You’re really going to be hating once I fucking qualify and win my next Pro show. You can’t become great without adversity,” said Hadzovic. “Now we just have to pray for a good weigh-in as that was most of my issue in this previous show. I’m going to come in below weight. This was my first time making weight for Men’s Physique after two years off the stage.”

He also revealed that he used less performance-enhancing drugs for Chicago and doesn’t plan to make that mistake again for Tampa.

“I tried to do this past show with a smaller box of drugs. Now, that didn’t really work out to my favor. So, since getting home last week, I increased the drugs.

More specifically, more winstrol, winstrol makes you harder, dryer, but the thing is with winstrol, it can make you very brittle. So if you have these fast jerky movements or a faster tempo or if you’re practicing very controlled and exploding reps, you could risk injury.”

Although he admits to a ‘catastrophic miscalculation’ in Chicago, Hadzovic is confident that if he comes in lighter next time, he’ll find more success on stage.

“I just need to keep getting my weight lower, lose one pound a day every day,” said Hadzovic. “I want to land in Tampa around 207 pounds. That will put me in a good position to eat and drink water while I’m still making weight. That was a catastrophic miscalculation on my part. I thought I would be able to drop weight faster.”

“I never make the same mistake twice. Of course, I want to win that trophy for my daughter. So, that’s still what I visualize.”

With the Olympia qualification deadline approaching, time is running out to earn passage to the sport’s biggest show of the year. Aiming to bounce back at his all-time best, fans look forward to seeing Sadik Hadzovic return to the stage in August.
