62-year-old powerlifter David Ricks recently created a raw squat personal record in the gym. Ricks is a decorated powerlifter that has competed for nearly four decades. He made his powerlifting debut at the USPF Pennsylvania State Collegiate Championships in 1981 and continues to get better to this day.

While training at the Bayton Barbell Center, David Ricks squatted a massive 325kg (716lbs) raw double to create a new personal record. He executed the lift wearing lifting belts, knee wraps, and wrist wraps. The lifter’s grind was visible in David Ricks’ movements during the lift. However, he completed the lift irrespective of the difficulties faced. Courtesy of David Ricks’ personal Instagram account, you can watch the full video of his raw squat double here:

“Friday night squats at the Boynton Barbell Center. 716 Pounds (325 Kilos)
X 2. This was a PR raw double. A huge thanks to the crew at Boynton Barbell Center to keep an old guy from hurting himself,” David Ricks wrote in the caption to his post.
