Every Marine takes the same Physical Fitness Test (PFT) and Combat Fitness Test (CFT), whatever the MOS (military occupational specialty); a combat arms MOS changes how the Marine Corps scores the PFT. Since 1 January 2026, it has scored Marines with one of 32 combat arms primary MOSs on the male tables for their age, whatever their sex, and they must reach 210 of the 300 points. A combat arms Marine who passes with fewer than 210 points keeps the pass and goes on remedial physical training.

The 32 combat arms primary MOSs

MARADMIN 613/25 lists these primary MOSs as combat arms. DoW Instruction 1308.03 lists the same 32 codes for the Marine Corps.

If your primary MOS is not on this list, your PFT is scored on the tables for your sex and age, and the pass line is 150 points with the minimum in every event. The Marine Corps PFT and CFT standards page has the tables.

What changes on the PFT for combat arms Marines

The events stay the same: pull-ups or push-ups, the plank, and the 3-mile run or 5,000-meter row. The table and the target change: the score comes from the male table for the Marine’s age group, and the target is 210 points, 70 percent of the 300 possible. Before each PFT, units tell combat arms Marines the sex-neutral minimum for each event and the 210 requirement, and they record that score on a NAVMC 11622, alongside the usual entry in the Marine Corps Training Information Management System (MCTIMS).

A combat arms Marine below 210 by the end of the reporting period goes on the remedial physical training program and may face reclassification out of the PMOS or a promotion restriction. Until the Marine Corps publishes further guidance, it takes no adverse or punitive action.

The rule covers the PFT only. MARADMIN 613/25 sets no combat arms rule for the CFT, and its two changes, MARADMINs 066/26 and 073/26, amend only the body composition rules.
