Russel Orhii Powers Through 625lb Deadlift For 7-Rep PR!

Russel Orhii made headlines last month at the International Powerlifting Federation (IPF) World Championships.

At just 83kg/183lbs, Orhii earned the title of World champion in his weight class, and he delivered some awesome World record performances while he was at it. He recorded a 690lb/313kg squat and achieved and 1826lb/833kg total. 

But now, Russel Orhii can add a 625 lbs/283kg volume deadlift PR to his resume. He posted his incredible 7-rep deadlift session on Instagram…

Orhii wrote the following caption on his post…

“You pick the casket, I’ll put the nail through it.” – @champagnepapi
Nice lil volume PR with 625lbs/283kg for 7 reps! I have been on one these last few weeks. My joy for training is at an all-time high and I couldn’t be any more motivated. This year just feels different.. Ayo @steficohen I heard the limit does not exist. LETS KEEP GOING THEN!“

But now, Russel Orhii is eyeing the USAPL Nationals taking place in October of which he placed first last year with the following numbers…

  • Squat – 663.6 lbs
  • Bench press – 418.8 lbs
  • Deadlift – 683.4 lbs

However, he’s improved drastically since then and will be looking make a statement is everything goes perfect. Orhii explained that “this year just feels different,” and his motivation is at an all-time high.

So, we’ll definitely be waiting to see what Russel Orhii has in store for the World of powerlifting in 2019!
