French powerlifter Tiffany Chapon recently executed 153.5kg (338.4lbs) raw squat in the gym. 20-year-old Chapon is one of the fastest rising competitors in the 47kg (104lbs) weight class and the 153.5kg raw squat is 1kg heavier than the International Powerlifting Federation (IPF) world record.

Tiffany Chapon shared the video of this massive lift on her Instagram account. She executed the lift while wearing wrist wraps and a lifting belt. There was no grind apparent as the 20-year-old comfortably finished the lift and returned the bar to the stand with a wide grin.

The IPF world record for raw squat in the 47kg weight class belongs to Taiwanese powerlifter Wei-Ling Chen. She completed a 152.5kg (336.2lbs) raw squat en route to a gold medal finish at the 2015 World Classic Powerlifting Championships in Salo, Finland. Although heavier, Tiffany Chapon’s lift will not be considered as the official world record since she executed the heavy lift out of competition. The French powerlifter did not reveal her weight at the time of the lift. However, the lift is 3.26 times heavier than her competition weight (47kg), which makes it an impressive achievement in itself.

Tiffany Chapon’s powerlifting career at a glance

Tiffany Chapon made her powerlifting debut at the 2020 FFForce Silent Worker Meet in St-Germain-En-Laye, France with a gold medal finish. She last competed in the 2021 FFForce Girl Power in Cambrai, France where she finished second. Chapon scored her personal best for deadlift, bench press, and total at the same competition.
