The 2022 Arnold Classic UK went down this weekend (September 23-25) in Birmingham, United Kingdom. This show served as a 2022 Mr. Olympia qualifier. There were nine bodybuilding categories featured at the event, which included, 212 Bodybuilding, Classic Physique, Men’s Open, Men’s Physique, Men’s Wheelchair, Bikini, Figure, Fitness, and Women’s Physique.

Arnold UK was a highly anticipated event given the lineup of talent who battled on stage, especially the headlining Men’s Open division. One of the sport’s rising stars in Andrew Jacked returned as well as rival Martin Fitzwater, who was runner-up to Andrew back at the Texas Pro in August. In addition, James Hollingshead, Marc Hector, and Maxx Charles all battled it out to see who would walk away from the show with their 2022 Mr. Olympia invitation.

Athletes are running out of time to punch their ticket to Mr. Olympia, which is scheduled to take place December 15 – 18 in Las Vegas, Nevada this December. Bodybuilders have until November 20, 2022, to secure their invites to bodybuilding’s most prestigious event of the year.

Men’s Open

The Men’s Open battle was one for the history books. Jacked was arguably pushed more in Birmingham than he has throughout his entire career. While Martin Fitzwater brought a more conditioned upper body compared to his showing in Texas, he again struggled with the sheer size and shape of Jacked. Meanwhile, contender James Hollingshead showed some massive improvements to his physique from his last time on stage.

By the end of prejudging, many fans were once again impressed with Andrew Jacked. Despite having earned his Olympia invitation last month, Andrew Jacked proved himself on an extremely competitive stage and won the final installment of the Arnold Classic UK.

  • Winner — Chinedu Andrew Obiekea (Andrew Jacked)
  • Second Place — Patrick Johnson
  • Third Place — James Hollingshead
  • Fourth Place — Martin Fitzwater
  • Fifth Place — Marc Hector
  • Sixth Place — Jamie Christian-Johal
  • Seventh Place — Vlad Alfred Chiriac
  • Eighth Place — Maxx Charles
  • Ninth Place — Kuba Cielen
  • Tenth Place — Rob Cannon

212 Bodybuilding

As the show progressed, many were under the impression that Radoslav Angelov could run away with the victory. He brought a well-balanced and conditioned package. The judges put both bodybuilders through a series of poses and neither let up. After a close contest, Naser Mohamed won the title and earned his invitation to 2022 Mr. Olympia.

  • Winner — Naser Mohamed
  • Second Place — Radoslav Angelov
  • Third Place — Ahmed Wardany

Men’s Physique

The Men’s Physique lineup featured a number of competitors vying for gold. It was a close contest, and top-tier conditioning played a major role in who came out on top. Jeffrey Darko pushed every athlete on stage, but Ali Bilal got the job done and won the 2022 Arnold UK title.

  • Winner — Gabriele Andriulli
  • Second Place — Antoni Khadraoui
  • Third Place — Karol Milewski

Bikini

As one of the most competitive divisions in the IFBB Pro League, it was no surprise this division delivered fireworks. Prejudging saw two standouts emerge — Ivanna Escandar and Ashley Kaltwasser.

They have put forth extremely busy seasons in the sport and both are already qualified to compete at 2022 Mr. Olympia. After bringing next-level conditioning, Ashley Kaltwasser walked away from the contest with yet another victory on her stacked résumé.

  • Winner — Ashley Kaltwasser
  • Second Place — Ivanna Escandar
  • Third Place — Jourdanne Lee
  • Fourth Place — Eli Fernandez

Figure

The Figure division gave the judges all they could handle. Scoring the contest was difficult given the excellent conditioning of all athletes in the first call out. Following a close contest, especially against Gabriela Linhartov, Lola Montez got her hand raised and won the title.

  • Winner — Lola Montez
  • Second Place — Gabriela Linhartova
  • Third Place — Paula Ranta
  • Fourth Place — Jennifer Zeinart
  • Fifth Place — Megan Sylvester Cielen
  • Sixth Place — Stella Miliani
  • Seventh Place — Scarlet Hollands
  • Eighth Place — Corrie Morales
  • Ninth Place — Veronica Gallego
  • Tenth Place — Arya Bahar

Fitness

Competitors in the Fitness category went head-to-head to determine who walked away with an invitation to 2022 Olympia. Michelle Fredua-Mensah nearly pulled off the victory, but Terra Plum‘s package was undeniable in the eyes of the judges. She won the Figure title in Birmingham.

  • Winner — Terra Plum
  • Second Place — Michelle Fredua-Mensah
  • Third Place — Kamara Graham
  • Fourth Place — Jasmine Abercrombie
  • Fifth Place — Corinne Elizabeth Bean

Women’s Physique

The Women’s Physique competitors went to war in Birmingham. Barbara Menage and Ann-Lorraine Mohn separated themselves from the rest of their competition with deep separation and hard upper bodies. In the end, Anne-Lorraine Mohn got her hand raised and punched her ticket to 2022 Mr. Olympia.

  • Winner — Anne-Lorraine Mohn
  • Second Place — Barbara Menage
  • Third Place — Julia Glazycheva
  • Fourth Place — Sophie Leo
