How did you get started with Fitness/Bodybuilding?
Over a year ago I started going to the gym doing just cardio like most people. The one day a friend of mine shown me some strength exercises for arms and it went on from there.
I loved these first sessions and it got me more interested in fitness and bodybuilding.
I immediately found this new sport very interesting and it soon became a passion. Personally it felt amazing being able to change every part of my body.
What motivates you, where does your motivation come from?
My motivation came from that first session and it especially grew when I started watching videos online and reading bodybuilding and fitness magazines. This is how I came across my favourite athlete Larissa Reis who I draw inspiration from.
What’s your typical workout look like?
A typical session with me is like that of a “male”, I like to train very hard and intense. The type of workout I prefer is that which is high in intensity, it consists of 4 exercises, 4 sets for each and really working the muscle.
If you had to pick three exercises what would they be and why?
If I had to pick three exercises it would be those for biceps, such as: Bicep curls with EZ bar, Hammer curl grip, alternating and concentrated bicep curls.
What is your typical diet like?
I have no particular season diet, I’m just careful with what I eat during the week. For example, A normal day would be 5 meals a day, with each consisting of 15 grams of protein, served with vegetables. I will eat carbs twice a day and lunch only (usually the day where I work legs).
What is your supplementation like?
In regards to the supplements I use, I like to use from the brand PEAK Nutrition, which I’m sponsored by. I mainly use their ‘Whey H2o’ (100% whey isolate, lactose free, carbohydrate and fat free) which is great in taste and easy to assimilate. I also use their ‘BCAA’ amino acids. If I feel a bit fatigued before training then I will use ‘Speed Serum’ which is a great booster.
Do you have any favourite quotes?
I have two quotes that I follow in life:
“There is no failure in life; the only failure is to remain where you fell”
“Live your dreams instead of dreaming your life”
What mistakes did you make when first starting out?
When I was first starting out the mistake I did was “overtraining”. I was so passionate about training and changing my body that I didn’t respect rest days. I realised over time that rest days are essential for recovery and muscle building. Without rest days injuries will be the only results obtained.
What is your proudest achievement so far?
The thing I am most proud of thanks to this sport: firstly, the physical transformation I’ve obtained and secondly, the moral transformation. Bodybuilding allowed me to evolve mentally by having a healthier lifestyle.
