“The Godfather of Bodybuilding,” Charles Glass, has tried-and-true training plans for any bodybuilding division. In a YouTube video from May 24, 2026, he broke down his high-intensity shoulder and abs workout for Fit Model.
For decades, Charles Glass has helped shape athletes from all walks of life. He guided elite bodybuilders to the top of the sport, including Dexter Jackson, the late Shawn Rhoden, and Brandon Curry. His engineering and gymnastic background gives him a unique perspective on body mechanics during lifts.
Glass remains a top-level coach for bodybuilders regardless of division. He recently helped prepare former 2024 Bikini Olympia Lauralie Chapados for her title defense, and always shares new, innovative strategies for building muscle and burning fat.

- Upright Rows

They started with a handful of exercises that targeted the three heads of the shoulder (front, side, and rear). Shortly after, they moved into ab-focused movements to build core strength.
After the fast-paced session, Glass offered insights on building muscle and posing in Fit Model:
“Normally, the last muscle you gain is the first muscle you’ll lose when you start dieting down because you haven’t had it long enough. So it goes away right away,” he shared. “You got to lift a little heavier [in prep]. When you pose, you have mandatory poses that you have to do.”
“Just front and back, that’s it, but you can pose them any way you want to.”
Glass continues to offer his fans workout breakdowns to elevate their physiques. When performing glute kickbacks, a popular exercise for Fit Model competitors, he cautioned against letting momentum take over the movement.
“When you kick back in the back, leave the leg bent,” explained Charles Glass. “I’m here, and then I go all the way back, and squeeze the back.”
“Standing glute kickbacks done with control—focus on squeezing at the top, keeping tension on the glutes, and not letting momentum take over.”
Athletes from the Fit Model division have the opportunity to qualify for the 2026 Mr. Olympia this season. The qualification period began on September 15, 2025, and runs until August 30, 2026. Fans look forward to welcoming the new category on stage when the show returns from September 24-27 in Las Vegas, Nevada.
