Bodybuilding legend Lou Ferrigno is maintaining his strength at 74. In a Facebook post from July 8, 2026, he shared an old-school T-bar row workout and reflected on how training has changed over the years.

Ferrigno was an original mass monster who made his mark during the Golden Era of bodybuilding. Throughout his career, he faced off against iconic champions, including Arnold Schwarzenegger, Serge Nubret, and Frank Zane

Like Schwarzenegger, Ferrigno also explored the acting industry. In addition to starring in Pumping Iron, he played roles in The Incredible Hulk, Hercules, and Sinbad of the Seven Seas. Ferrigno still takes on entertainment projects today and credits regular exercise as his key to longevity. He pointed out that activity was critical to his recovery from shoulder surgery, when 95% of his tendon was reattached.

Aiming to preserve his health, Ferrigno is making sure to push the pace beyond the stage. And even 50 years later, he’s still repping out sets on the T-bar row with intensity and a fast tempo.

Lou Ferrigno Says He and Arnold Schwarzenegger Still Do T-Bar Rows 50 Years Later

In the Facebook post, Ferrigno looked back on his Pumping Iron days. He shared that machines were less prevalent during his era, making free weights the primary choice for resistance training.

“Amazing, over 50 years later, Arnold and I are still doing this exercise, T-bar rows. This is called Pumping Iron. Back over 50 years ago, we didn’t have the fancy machines; we had iron, pumping iron, blood, sweat, and tears, kicking butt.”

“We’re still here buddy, kicking butt,” Lou Ferrigno shared

Fans reacted to his workout in the comment section:

“I’d love to see you and Arnold have a 50 year anniversary bodybuilding competition. My money is on you.”

“I think Lou might be going a little harder than Arnold these days 🫡”

“Hope a 50th Anniversary edition of Pumping Iron is released with much more priceless golden era footage.
Keep standing tall Lou!!”

Lou Ferrigno isn’t the only bodybuilding icon keen on staying in shape. Aside from Schwarzenegger, Lee Labrada has retained his muscle mass and leanness despite retiring from the stage. He has called bodybuilding the closest thing we have to the fountain of youth

Other Men’s Open mainstays, like Samir Bannout, Frank Zane, and Robby Robinson, have also remained in tremendous shape following their bodybuilding careers. For Lou Ferrigno, regular exercise and true effort go a long way inside the gym. Over 50 years later, he is still pushing through the same exercises he performed in his prime.
