Nathan De Asha is on the verge of a comeback taking place next weekend on September 10 at the 2023 Flex Weekend Pro. In a recent interview with Muscular Development’s Giles Thomas, De Asha revealed his plan to make a statement at his next contest with a ‘very different’ look.
Displaying mass, v-taper, and a sculpted back, Nathan De Asha took the bodybuilding world by storm quickly. In 2021, he registered a flawless season, having claimed three consecutive victories at the 2021 Europa Pro Championships, Arnold Classic UK, and the Yamamoto Cup Pro. On the way to the win in his home country of the UK, De Asha managed to defeat rising Men’s Open star Samson Dauda, who just took first at the recent 2023 Arnold Classic.
With aspirations to grace the Olympia stage in 2021 and 2022, De Asha mapped out plans to come back. However, he suffered a bicep tear that prevented his return. Making matters more challenging, De Asha tore his other bicep months later, further sidelining him from taking to a stage.
Following recovery efforts and countless training sessions, De Asha is once again ready to battle against top Open talent. He’s made considerable improvements to his conditioning over the months, which he’s shown with physique updates. Then, in a recent The Menace podcast with Dennis James, De Asha revealed that his physique has never been this dry or big. Given that his next show is approaching, De Asha talked about his prep and what fans can expect in just a few days.

Nathan De Asha Says He’s ‘Ready’ for 2023 Flex Weekend Pro: “I’ll Be Fuc**ng Bursting Out the Skin”
De Asha laid out some of the key changes to his training routine in the lead-up to his 2023 return.
“Feeling tired, but content,” said Nathan De Asha.
“Yeah man. I’m ready bro. I’m ready to rock and roll but Stefan is trying to drag every bit of shit out of me. He’s taking everything out of me, everything. Boston Outlaw. A few months [we’ve been working together]. Basically, I’m friends of George everyone knows, he came to me gym in March a few weeks out from the Arnold. We were talking just normal chat. I was just doing my own thing really.”
“I’m not too into the bodybuilding thing, I don’t know who coaches are or whatnot. I started looking into Stephan and I’ve seen his face and name through JP. I thought, ‘Oh, well, I’ll give this fellow a little follow and stuff.’ I reached out and asked any chance for a little help. I didn’t want to put no pressure on him you know.”
According to De Asha, he got up to 303 pounds during his latest off-season and said he’s begun eating cleaner since teaming up with Urs Kalecinski’s coach.
“We got to 303 pounds, just off a small small push. And now with a good off-season with him together, probably 6-8 months together we will reach the high 3-teens, 325-ish. So, I’m happy mate and I’m accountable now, rather than just eating kababs and Indian every night. He’s got me doing certain things I wouldn’t think of doing.”
“Eating cleaner, rice and doing the whole fucking Coco pop shebang and shit. It’s worked, bro. For that small little push he’s given me… its paid off dividends in the physique you know.”
Considering how flat Nathan is currently, he believes he’ll be ‘bursting out of his skin’ once more carbs are included in his diet.
“I know I’m flat and I’m in shape. But once he puts some food in me, I’ll be fucking bursting out of the skin. Normally, if you know me and you follow me journey and stuff I only normally do a 10 avocado maximum but it’s got certain – we’ve got certain plans that’s a lot lot different of a look we’re going to try. It might work, it might not work but we’re going to try it and see where we’re at.”
“No, not really, I don’t really spill over mate,” added Nathan De Asha.
De Asha says he has a point to prove to himself and revealed he’s now tipping the scales at 261 pounds.
“People keep asking me, even the lads, I’m full, bro, I’m not. We’ve started to cut some of the supplements out now, what you do anyway. The leg training is finished. The last one is after today. We’re just pulling slowly and implementing different things in to get tighter.”
“Look mate, I feel like a fucking superstar, I feel fucking amazing. Look, see me body I said, see me body, I’m fucking, I feel amazing. He goes, ‘We might do a little push.’ I was born with no food in my belly. I can suffer, I can starve. I’ve been there before. A few fucking hours is nothing.”
“I’m now 261. People ask how tall, I’m fucking 6″0′ no mate, I’m fucking 5″8′. Yeah [I’m committed to Italy, Spain and France]. Yeah.”
“I have a point to prove to myself.”
The upcoming 2023 Flex Weekend Pro event has turned into one of the most stacked contests of the season. Aside from De Asha, Regan Grimes, who is trained by Milos Sarcev, will be in attendance looking to earn entrance to Olympia.
Meanwhile, Blessing Awodibu will also be at the competition as he fell short of his qualification after earning fourth at the 2023 Chicago Pro. “The Boogieman” has gone on record saying that Nathan De Asha will be the biggest threat in Italy this weekend.
Looking ahead, Nathan De Asha has targeted a top-five position at the 2023 Mr. Olympia show. Regardless of how he performs, De Asha believes he has two years left in the sport before he sails off into retirement.
