Sonita Muluh has been one of the standout athletes in the professional powerlifting scene for several years, consistently competing for some of the biggest titles in the sport. She once again showed why she is among the best at the 2026 Avancus Houston, where she competed in the raw division on October 4 in Texas. Muluh went on to claim the gold medal and capped off her performance by achieving the heaviest raw squat ever recorded in women’s powerlifting.
Since she competed in the raw division, Sonita Muluh was only allowed to wear knee sleeves, a lifting belt, and wrist wraps. She kicked off her squat performance with a successful opening lift of 285 kilograms (628.3 pounds), showing that she is capable of lifting much more. Building on that strong baseline, Sonita moved on to her second attempt, smoothly handling 305 kilograms (672.4 pounds).
Sonita Muluh’s third and heaviest attempt came out to 320 kilograms (705.5 pounds) and it looked exceptionally smooth, with her ascent maintaining the same speed as her descent. She did not experience any visible sticking points along the way, which indicated that she likely had more in the tank. This monumental lift surpassed the previous heaviest official women’s squat ever completed in a competition by 1.5 kilograms (3.3 pounds), cementing her spot at the top of raw powerlifting history.
