This year’s bodybuilding season is in full swing as the 2022 New York Pro is set to take place this weekend on May 21, 2022, in Teaneck, New Jersey, U.S.A. A total of nine divisions (Men’s Open Bodybuilding, Men’s 212 Bodybuilding, Classic Physique, Men’s Physique, Women’s Bodybuilding, Figure, Bikini, Women’s Physique and Wellness) will be featured on stage at the New York Pro, as they battle for gold and invitations to 2022 Mr. Olympia.

Last weekend, the 2022 Indy Pro went down, featuring plenty of top competitors from the Men’s Open division. 2021 Indy Pro champion Justin Rodriguez was hailed as an early favorite but was outmatched by a few top competitors. After placing in fourth last week, Justin intends to reach the podium this Saturday.

Blessing Awodibu returned to the Indy after making his debut at the show a year prior, where he placed third. After winning the 2022 Indy Pro, Awodibu secured his invitation to 2022 Mr. Olympia this Dec. Despite the recent success, Blessing will be joined by a skilled crop of top bodybuilders this weekend at the New York Pro as he aims to extend his reign of dominance.

UPDATE: Check out the 2022 New York Pro results.

After pushing “The Boogeyman” on stage, Charles Griffen earned second place at the Indy Pro. In addition, IFBB Pro Maxx Charles will return after placing third at the 2022 Indy Pro last week. Men’s Open standout Petar Klancir was unable to compete at the Indy due to visa issues, but that won’t hold him back this Saturday as he aims to capture his invitation to this year’s Olympia contest on the east coast.

As Sadik Hadzovic returned to the stage in men’s physique after long hiatus, he qualified for the Olympics with a win at the Pittsburgh Pro. He’ll return to New Jersey this weekend at NY pro.

It’s no secret that bikini is one of the fastest-growing disciplines in bodybuilding and this weekend’s competition won’t lack talent. Lauralie Chapados emerged as a top competitor in the past few years. She recently won the 2022 Pittsburgh Pro and will look to bag another win this weekend. Meanwhile, Ashley Kaltwssser scored second. Former Olympia champion Janet Layug placed third in Pittsburgh and will try to take the title from Chapados. Another top name to look out for is Elisa Pecini.
