Brittany Schlater came into the 2025 IPF World Classic Powerlifting Championships with a desire to stand on top of the podium. Having won the competition twice before, Brittany was even more motivated to reclaim her crown. So, she took the stage on June 15th in Chemnitz, Germany, competing in the +84-kilogram weight class. Brittany ended up taking the win in her division but also set a new 737.5-kilogram (1,625.9-pound) IPF Total World Record.

Brittany Schlater had a massive task ahead of her at the 2025 IPF World Classic Powerlifting Championships, having to go against multiple incredible athletes, some of whom also had experience in winning the competition beforehand. However, having managed to successfully complete eight out of her nine attempts, Brittany came out on top.
Squat
Brittany Schlater had an incredible display on the squats during the first two attempts. So, she made a bold decision to go for a new Competition PR for her final squat. With no room to make mistakes, Brittany knew that she had to make the attempt count. It was not easy, but she managed to squat 295 kilograms (650.4 pounds), thus not allowing Sonita Muluh to get a significant advantage.

Bench Press
The bench press was another important event for Brittany Schlater, as she had an opportunity to start cutting down Sonita’s overall lead. She did exactly that with an incredible 162.5-kilogram (358.3-pound) press. This was another Competition PR for Brittany, showing that she brought the best shape of her career.

Deadlift
With 15 kilograms (33 pounds) still separating Sonita Muluh and Brittany going into the deadlift session, the Canadian powerlifter had to go for all or nothing. So, she opened up with 265 kilograms (584.2 pounds), taking the overall lead from her rival. She then crushed another deadlift of 280 kilograms (617.3 pounds), with which she broke the Total World Record.
Brittany Schlater tried to advance the record further with an even heavier deadlift of 286 kilograms (630.5 pounds) but was unfortunately unable to complete the lift.

Brittany Schlater had previously won the IPF World Championships in 2021 and 2023. So, now, another two years later, she is back on the throne with her third title in hand. This adds to her incredible career, which has seen her take part in 27 sanctioned powerlifting competitions, with 22 of those ending with a win for her.
