Ryan Terry plans to make history the next time he steps onstage. In an August 31 video, he set his sights on ‘GOAT’ status in the Men’s Physique class and explained why Kyron Holden stands out as one of his greatest threats.

Since 2023, Ryan Terry has held on to Men’s Physique Olympia gold. His aesthetics, tapered physique, and dry conditioning have helped him maintain his reign, having defeated top-tier contenders year after year, including Ali Bilal, Brandon Hendrickson, and Erin Banks

With a victory in Vegas, Terry can tie Jeremy Buendia’s Men’s Physique Olympia record of four. The show is approaching fast, prompting the reigning champ to discuss his mentality and why another win could reshape his career.

“The GOAT status… because for me, it’s solidifying that because there’s still a question mark around that talk. There’s nothing wrong with that. Jeremy, four times Mr. Olympia, you got Brandon Hendrickson who’s got Arnold Classic titles, three times Olympia, so we’re all in the mix.”

“For me, I always need to find a way of giving me that motivation, finding something that somebody hasn’t got yet or that somebody has not achieved yet.”

At this stage of his career, Terry understands the stakes and doesn’t want to cut corners.

“I still have that mentality where I never want to cut corners, or I want to find something that somebody’s not got yet or something nobody has achieved yet.”

“Getting that fourth title for me, matching Jeremy, but also with the other accolades that Jeremy might not have, like the Arnold Classic titles, Pittsburgh Pro, New York Pro titles. It definitely solidifies that, I would say.”

Looking ahead, he believes Holden could give him a tough test at the Mr. Olympia.

“There’s a lot of hype about the new kid on the block and stuff like that. The thing is, I’ve got nothing but respect. Obviously, we can talk about Kyron. He looks absolutely phenomenal. He’s pushing me,” said Ryan Terry.

“I like the fact that he’s respectful. I like the fact that he keeps his head down and cracks on because they are the people you want to be worried about. They are the ones pushing you. They are going to elevate you, and you really want that and need it in the sport. It’s going to be a dogfight, definitely.”

Before competing, Terry has kept fans updated on his preparations. The Men’s Physique star revealed that he was weighing 215 pounds and shared an intense back workout seven weeks out from the Olympia. He believes stronger back poses could give him the edge.

With new blood and a crop of Olympia champs set to battle, Terry refuses to overlook his competition. The 2026 Mr. Olympia takes place September 24-27 in Las Vegas, Nevada.
