Powerlifting great CT Fletcher has been dealing with some serious setbacks, such as needing a heart transplant. However, he is finally back to training, as evident by a recent video.
CT Fletcher has made a name for himself both inside and outside the powerlifting world. He is well-renowned around the world, both as an athlete, and personality. That is why when he announced that he would need a heart transplant, things were hard. However, it was known from the start that Fletcher would not let that keep him down. He maintained his high spirits, insisting that he would be back.
Now, around a year and a half after his successful surgery, Fletcher is looking to get back to training. Now, obviously he is limited on what he is able to do. Nevertheless, he is starting to lift some weight again.
He posted a recent video to his Instagram, showing off his return to weight training, by hitting some back squats.
Here is the video:
“C’MON LADY I NEED YOUR HELP! I WAS TALKIN TO MY DONOR TODAY WHILE ATTEMPTING TO SQUAT FOR THE FIRST TIME IN YEARS.
MY ARTHRITIS HAD PREVENTED ME FROM SQUATTIN, THE PAIN WAS SEEMINGLY UNBEARABLE, BUT I LISTENED TO MYSELF AND DECIDED I SOUNDED JUST LIKE A “PACIFIER SUCKIN PUSSY”, MY “MIND” WAS ACTUALLY PREVENTING ME FROM SQUATTIN, ME AND PAIN GO WAY BACK, SHIT…WE BUDDIES,
SO TODAY I SAID ENOUGH! FUCK THIS PAIN! AND STARTED BACK SQUATTIN AND ITS OK IF YOU LAUGH AT HOW LIGHT THE WEIGHT IS, IM NOT GOING TO REMOVE YOUR COMMENTS, IM GONNA USE IT FOR FUEL”
Fletcher is clearly pumped to be back to training, even though this is not the first time he has done so. Although as he notes, the weight is not heavy, he does ten reps. This is a good place to start, as his body begins adjusting to his more regular training again. Either way, it is good to see him back.
CT Fletcher is a cross over star, who has been through a lot of issues lately. Therefore, it is good to see him back to training, and doing what he loves. Here’s to a healthy recovery, and more from Fletcher.
