Early Life
Evan Singleton was born on October 9th, 1992, weighing 13 pounds at the time. So he was already a bit larger than the average baby. Additionally, as Evan grew older and bigger, he started getting picked on by other kids in his school. However, he would use that as motivation later on.
At 13-years-old, Evan Singleton followed the wise words of his father and decided to change his life. To do so, he started going to the gym and doing sports. It was hard for him to find his passion, so he tried out in multiple sports, including football, track, basketball, baseball, tennis, and more. However, only one sport grew in his heart, and that was wrestling.
Evan Singleton did well in wrestling and even took courses in Brazilian jiu-jitsu for around three years. Alongside his work in the gym, Evan transformed his shape completely. So, he quickly developed the goal of becoming a professional wrestler.

Risking It All
As 2018 was wrapping up, Evan Singleton was pleasantly surprised by the invitation of World’s Strongest Man to be their equipment tester for 2019. Obviously, he gladly accepted the offer and was excited to be around the greatest Strongmen in the World.
However, in order to travel, he needed to be absent from his job since he worked for a company that made water heaters. So, he approached his boss and asked to be absent for two weeks. He did not get the answer that he was hoping for, as his boss did not allow him to leave. Evan was found at the crossroads and made a decision to quit his job on the spot since he did not want to miss the opportunity.
This proved that Evan Singleton was all in regarding his Strongman career. Unfortunately, at one point in his life, Evan was homeless since he was completely dedicated to Strongman. He could not afford a place to live, but instead slept in his car for a few months. He still pushed through all the setbacks.
Strongman Breakthrough
In 2019, Evan Singleton once again competed at the Giants Live North American Open and beat Rob Kearney, Mark Felix, Kevin Faires, and more incredible athletes. Since he won the competition, Evan was officially qualified for the 2020 World’s Strongest Man.
“I remember sitting on the podium; my trophy was between my feet, and I was lost in space… That was my moment where I was like, ‘I actually made it to World’s Strongest Man’… It is something that I will remember for the rest of my life.”
Evan Singleton continued racking up incredible performances in various meets throughout the next few years. However, he lacked luck at the WSM competitions. In 2020, Evan was on the way to qualify for the finals, but he tore his distal bicep tendon on his left arm. Next, he suffered a stomach virus at the 2021 WSM and was unable to make it to the finals.
The streak of bad luck did not stop there; at the 2022 WSM, Evan went into anaphylactic shock due to an allergy. Due to this, he withdrew from the competition and was taken to see a doctor. He felt a bit better the next day and persuaded the doctors and the organizers to let him come back into the competition. He then won the Yoke event, but was still unable to qualify for the finals.
2022 got even worse for Evan Singleton, as he tore his bicep once again, but this time on his right arm.
However, 2023 was one of the best years that Evan Singleton has had in his Strongman career. He finally managed to get into the WSM finals and finished in fifth place. Moreover, only 1.5 points separated him from the podium. He also won two other International competitions in 2023.

Evan Singleton’s Diet & Training
Strongman athletes are notorious for their eating habits, but Evan Singleton also believes that eating clean is an essential aspect of getting stronger. That being said, Evan does not avoid cheat meals but instead eats his favorite one, pizza, approximately once a week.
“You will never be able to outtrain a bad diet… If you are young, you will be able to burn off bad calories pretty easily. But, I am telling you now, healthier foods will benefit you so much more in pursuit of strength or a better physique.”
As far as training goes, Evan Singleton spends the majority of his time in the gym. He trains for five days a week, but also does active recovery on his two days off. His training program is largely dependent on what competition he is preparing for and what events it features. So, he often trains the exact movements that he is required to do in a competition. However, Evan also believes that accessories are very important.
“Accessories are the foundation on which your compound lifts are built… The best way to increase your compound (lifts) is to smash your accessory (exercises) after the compounds… The mind-to-muscle connection that you build when doing accessory work will drastically help.”
Another important aspect of his fitness level is his recovery. Regarding that, he uses multiple methods, including a massage gun, mobility work, stretching, ice bath, a cryochamber, sauna, and red light therapy.
